Has Anyone Else Noticed This?

A request comes from a signing service you would NEVER do work for. You decline.

Ten minutes later, the same appointment requested by a different signing service on the same platform.

Is that normal?

Probably affiliated signing services, maybe under a single holding company or some such arrangement. It can be deceptive.

Well, the first service that contacted me is one that I would never work for based on reviews here in the forum and the other is one I will work for even though I’m not super crazy about their payment terms, but they do pay me. I just never thought they were affiliated.

Probably others won’t work for the one that you won’t work for. That’s why they opened a “second” company - to do jobs that are turned down by their “other” company. Does that make sense?

It’s called the ol’ double shuffle.

Happens at least weekly. Doesn’t mean they’re affiliated. Usually means the first co. is such a lowballer that everyone in my area just rejects it/or the SS rejects their counter. I’ve even received offers from totally unrelated companies within seconds of one another for the same signing @ a different fee.

I don’t think these two companies are related and they did offer for different fees, but I only countered the one company that I will accept assignments from but what sad is it’s the same location. I’m headed to right now which is an hour and 45 minutes away so if it is awarded, that’s gonna be a problem anyway I’ll have to really scramble to get it in, but it’s probably a non-issue there’s always someone out there who will do it for a lot less than I will.

I see it all the time with :rocket: paper closings. The two signing services are definitely not working together as one requires scans and one doesn’t per titles rules. Seems as if the one I prefer to work for cant get it filled quick enough, :rocket: will now send it to the other also.
