Just accepted an assignment with this company to deliver Default/Demand letters to a consumer for a large sum of money. Just wondering if I need to be wary of this unannounced delivery. Please advise. Thank you.
@mevigna Hmmm . . . most believe these types of Orders could be a bit too dangerous to accept.
Did you see the recent thread on a similar topic to yours?
I do some collateral inspections for Aspen. They’re great to work with. Pay when they say. I don’t deliver letters. But the last job I went and took videos of some tractors to prove they were operational. Got paid a LOT for doing that, too.
I have delivered demand letters but I don’t care for the vibe. I would have to be in a cash shortfall to take those orders. But that’s just me. You can trust Aspen.
@mevigna Once you make a final determination regarding your course of action, would you please return to the Notary Cafe forum & share your decision as well as any direct experience regarding this Signing Order [SO]?
Thank You
Completed this assignment (delivery of Default/Demand Letters) without incident since no one was a home at the address in question. Got to admit, I was very nervous about doing this assignment owing to its “process server” aspect and knowing they can turn somewhat dangerous. I have done collateral and business verification inspections with Metro Inspections for years and have experience very little push back from the inspected business - only once was I asked to leave the premises without completing the assignment, but still got paid.
I will categorize the letter delivery type assignments with the debt consolidation assignments - the risk might be too great; physically for the former, legally for the latter. That’s my follow-up story on this first experience…and I’m sticking it!
@mevigna Thank You for returning with a follow up regarding your decision & direct experience status. You insights will be helpful to nearly ALL Notary Cafe members!
Concur percent with your assessment (as noted above within the excerpt) from your post.

Aspen is mainly field inspector work. They also pay using Bill.com
Hey Mevigna,
I had one or two signings with Aspen, and they were legit. I received payment faster than from other signing companies.
Yup, this just happened to me. I also did a forum question on this “The old switcheroo”! My lesson was never to do it again…too scary for me!
look into CSI/covius. They do property inspections , both residential and commercial. RN I have 5-6 orders to complete for them . No letter drops, they prefer non interactive inspections. I’m doing shopping centers owned by one company currently and only have to get inside photos of a bank waiting area if I can do it discreetly.
@chandie.kent Very Helpful!
You’re Awesome
I have been asked by other companies, but have refused. Just seems like it can be a little dangerous.
