Hello - Can someone help me hopefully tonight yet? I have a refinance signing in the morning and several pages have the notarial block listed like this:
Sworn to and subscribed before me the
Notary Public
My Commission Expires: _________________
Do I need to add any wording after “before me the”??? This just doesn’t seem complete to me. My first thought is that it needs to say "Sworn to and subscribed before me the 12th day of December, 2020, by (borrower name).
I’m brand new to this and never done a signing, so please don’t follow my advice, but here is how I’d probably handle it if I were in your situation and nobody responded. First of all, my state doesn’t want me to put my commission expires date on it, because they’ve had conflicts with the date on the stamp and the date added which nullifies the document. My state only wants the date from the stamp. Since you know it’s an oath, I’d hand write the rest of the information, using a verification on oath or affirmation sheet. Your also missing a number of things like State, County, your name and title of office and so forth, so I’d hand write those in as well.
Thank you everyone. Yes, I am in Kansas and referred to the exact document you pointed out. I am okay handwriting the rest in then it appears to me. I appreciate the response. Thank you!
Before me the “12th of December 2020” or if you just put “12-12-2020” you would likely be fine as I’ve never gotten a rejection. They’re looking for the date.
I would also sign in the blank space above where it says “Notary Public” and after “Notary Public” put a comma and print my name as it reads on my stamp/commission
