Hi everyone. I’m a newbie to the Signing Agent industry. I started in July. I quickly learned to Google signing services before taking an order, due to non/late payment of fees. I’m a single mom and 2 of my kids are disabled, I don’t have the time to harass these companies for my hard earned money, yet I’ve found myself 3 months later scheduling reminders to call, text, email, invoice, and repeat, for the payments due to me. I’m currently owed $160 from one signing service ranging from 2-3 months ago, with no answers to call, text, order updates, or voicemails. I’m so discouraged that I almost gave up. I’m still debating. I’ve had to take on extra endeavors to make up for the money I’m losing to buy additional supplies (dual tray laser printer, scanners, etc.) travel 20-30 miles for signings and not be paid. I’ve said all that to say this…There’s got to be way to get these companies put out of business, or at least put under review. I’m just getting started and I’m OVER IT. This is so frustrating, but I’m not going out without a fight. These companies should be stopped. From Google reviews and this forum, I’ve learned that most of these companies have been doing this for YEARS and here they are, still robbing people in 2024.
Hard to stop 'em when they keep finding newbs. Contact the Title Co. involved and let them know you’ve not been paid. Works 80% of the time.
I started a collaboration with two notary signing agents in the area and we printed a card. We plan to spread this cards around and try to do no sinning agent business. Why 3 of us: I travel, the other lady travels and the 3rd person is usually available. This way if someone calls, he will be reaching someone. We are responsible about what we do, so this is our way to show it. Also the client feels comfortable with Spanish speaking, or Slavic (Bulgarian) speaking, and we give them a choice. You also can be creative based on your area. And when you do loans, always, ALWAYS leave your business card THERE. They call beck for different personal purposes. I had a guy who is a bank manager but needed all his personal stuff ( living will, trusts or wills) signed and witnessed and had his family ready and he didn’t want the bank to assist him. It was personal!
