Joe I got the exact same email a few minutes ago.

His name was Henry Hunter. The same verbiage and asked for a Google meeting several times. Definitely AI generated. I told him I believe he is trying to scam me and that I have forwarded the emails to my brother who is an FBI agent.

What is a Google meeting? Some kind of messenger thing or video? I’d be very leery of this.

They are trying to scam you. A Google meeting is similar to a zoom meeting. Do not fall for this. I suspect we will all be getting these more often.

Don’t worry. I’ve survived without Zoom meetings or whatever flavor they’re asking for up until now. If they want to talk to me, they can either do it through Messenger or the old-fashioned way…with a phone call. I know better than to click on links sent by people who are unknown to me.

I receive the exact same email at least once a week. the verbiage maybe a bit different. I actually received one yesterday. They want to send me a google link once I said I will not click on a Google link, but they are free to call. Then they stop emailing

Just wondering out loud here… what if they need an AI generated video of you to perform closings or notarial acts in your name for shady things that you would never agree to for reasons like lack of correct ID or stolen property or estate? What would stop them? AI has gotten better to the point where it isn’t so easy to spot. I’m old school and think some things should absolutely be done in person, especially now with AI being so advanced.

Scam! I’ve been getting these the past month or more it’s getting to be quite annoying I get these EVERYDAY sometimes 2-3 day as well as text AND recently phone calls

So, they’ve moved from Zoom to Google Meet, huh? Was Zoom not working for the scammers? They’ve given me a rest for now, but I suspect they’ll be at it again soon. So tiresome. :roll_eyes:

I got something similar to that. She insisted on doing a zoom to discuss the financial document she wanted to notarize. I explained to her that I’m not an attorney or a financial advisor. She kept insisting and I finally stopped responding to her. A fellow notary did do the zoom call and the person ended up getting into her computer…she could actually see her working in the background! Do not answer these emails!

just got this trash tonight, they know notaries are on the scam zoom emails so now they are trying google meet, the NNA is aware and I just report them as spam and dont respond and block them
