Covid 19 has given this concept a HUGE PUSH. A Senate Bill is currently in the Judiciary Committee for review. This is the easiest place to LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD. I have already written to every member of this committee opposing RON, but it takes a village! Below are links to the Bill text–the Sponsors and, most important, the Judiciary Committee (who have the ability to kill it now–or not,) I strongly urge you to spend some time actually letting THE POWERS know what you think. I’ve done what I can–now it’s up to you.
RE: U. S. Senate Bill 3533 (Remote Online Notarization)

Link to Sponsors (2D&2R) https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/senate-bill/3533/all-info#committees-content
Now in Judiciary Committee for Review/Link to Committee Members: https://www.judiciary.senate.gov/ (Note that the list of Members is at the BOTTOM of this page and you can access every member’s website by Clicking on their name.
Somewhere on each website is CONTACT and this brings up a form where you can (copy/paste) YOUR own words opposing this law. It is time-consuming, but worth it to protect the integrity of notarizations AND YOUR JOB.)
Also, reality is they are not going to read your letter, it will be read by staff and summarized into For or Against and what will ultimately weigh heavily is the quantity of unique opposition—so, even if you only pick one part of the Bill and expound on why you oppose that, it will be given more ‘weight’ because you took the time to put it in your words!
Just be sure to put “I oppose U.S. Senate Bill 3533 for the following reasons:” right at the beginning. In the contact form, most require a subject and there is a varying drop down list. I’d suggest Judiciary.
