Newbie here.
Has anyone ever tried formatting legal sized paperwork into letter size? I have a colleague that states she does it but I am worried that the company that has assigned the signing or the lender might not approve. It would save a ton of money and most of these refi’s waste half of the legal paper anyway. PLEASE HELP! Any feedback or experience with this is appreciated.
Print as it’s supposed to be printed - legal to legal and letter to letter - this is why we constantly tell you guys you need to price yourself adeuately to accommodate all these little nuances.
Also, if you shrink the security instrument it may not record - there are specific font and margin requirements to be acceptable to record the document - the last think you want to do is make a loan unrecordable or a package unsellable on the secondary market.
There’s another post here today where attorney’s office printed all on letter size for the notary - and the bottoms were all cut off -
Thank you for you rapid response! I thought it seemed off to format the pages differently than specified from the lender. You guys/gals are so helpful in these forums.
Currently, I am only getting opportunities through NotaryGo. I have signed up for many other platforms, but can’t seem to get any notifications of signings. Do you have any advice on what I should do to get these companies to utilize my services? Also I see all of you stating that you won’t take a signing for any less than $$$$ so much money; every time I try to request a higher price I am always rejected because someone else grabs it for the lower price that was originally offered, how do y’all get them to agree to the higher price? Is it only certain companies/platforms? Is it because they have used you before and know your worth it? What am I doing wrong?
Thanks!
You have to print as per requested, if not sure you can ASK FIRST if it’s acceptable one size or the other. Sometimes you’ll be surprised the answer is “yes, as long the bar code is printed with all the info from each page”
I refuse to work for NotaryGo because they won’t pay you for 60 days after a job.
I get a lot of work through here on Notary Cafe, Snapdocs.com and Signingorders.com. But I also run my own website to and get a lot of local customers who are always in shock when they find that I’m a mobile Notary.
