New Notary Question Letter or Legal Size

Good evening, I was accepted my first refi loan signing assignment, and the print job has 89 letter sized paper size and 2 legal size paper. I am not able to tell which two pieces of paper are legal size! After some research, it could either be the Loan Estimator or the Closing Disclosure. However, both of those documents are more than 2 pages long. Any suggestions? Thank you for any assistance.

Usually it’s the Closing Disclosure that sneaks in as legal, but I wouldn’t assume. I’d confirm with the hiring party real quick. Saves you from showing up with the wrong size and scrambling.

I almost always look at documents using Adobe Acrobat Reader and Windows. If you use your browser to look at the document, or use a Mac or Chromebook, I don’t know what you will see.

With the document open, click the button to print it. A window will appear, and a preview will be on the right side of the window. Above the preview, the page size will be shown. Below the preview, there are arrows to page through the document. Page through until you find the 8.5 by 14 inch pages. Put legal paper in your printer, then use the “Pages to Print” area to print the two legal pages. Then put letter paper in your printer and print the rest. If you are going to do this much, you should get a printer with dual trays, and use the “Choose paper source by PDF page size” checkbox.

You set the printer to print letter from the tray legal from the by pass and it prints the two legal when you say choose paper by size.

You can use this link and it seperates the package into letter and legal.

Just FYI you can forego the expense of dual tray by using the by pass feeder for legal.

Thank you! I am going to try this because I have signings coming up and this will help.

Absolutely. I use all the time and it has worked well for me. It will give you a pdf link for each type.

use Notaryrotary.com its free and it will tell you what is legal and letter and then you choose which one you want to print

I have used this method for 10 yrs. Look at each page, and jot down the legal size, when I’ve completed viewing each page., I then select the pages and begin to tell the printer which pages to print ex. 1-4, 7,8, 12-15. Print those, adjust the paper tray, put in my legal paper print those from my list, pre fill my notarial certificates, and go. That’s just me. And this works for me!

That must take forever on some packages.

I’ so use to it, maybe 18-20mins

ASHTON HAS THE TRICK. ALWAYS OPEN W ADOBE

using a 2 draw printer ..u will never have a problem follow his directions.

That is great if you have a 2 drawer printer, but I do not!

Everybody doesn’t have a 2 drawer printer though. That is why a pdf sorter works so well.

Most printers have a bypass tray though.

They do, mine does, but if you have more than a couple pages it is time consuming as mine will not feed more than 2 unless you do it by hand. It pulls them in sideways, so the sorter makes it easier.

My bypass holds 50 sheets. If it’s loaded correctly it doesn’t jam. It’s my preference over sorting pages.

Just go to Notaryrotary.com and click on Resource it will separate legal from letter. When it is just 2 legal I just print it all on letter.
