Need a category on Notary Cafe “Did you know?” End of year when I annually update information, websites, etc. Yesterday I was on the phone with NNA and found out they have a new website called “Find A Notary”. If you are an NNA member login to “My NNA” page and in top right corner is link to “Find A Notary” page. Yes there is a fee. I chatted with them quite a bit and noted that some people on this site are no longer in business and do they ever review if Notaries have left the business. Answer was will bring up at next meeting. Sharing information.
Pretty pricey for pursuing GNW. I’m sticking with the free sites (Yelp, etc.) Check if this new directory even shows up on P1 of Google. But appreciate the share.
Appreciate your response. Still doing GNW but also getting requests for property type notarizations. I’m on page 1 of Google search and Find A Notary. Every little bit helps. What I noticed that is strange is previously people purchasing property in TX and AZ in large capacity and now people moving back to WA and selling properties in TX and AZ. Not sure if politics are playing a role in decision making. WA State still allows women to make to decisions regarding their bodies. I’m not politically motivated for any party but will vote when time comes. Always enjoy your comments and have a great day!
In my opinion, “Find a Notary” is the biggest waste of time and money. I paid the $30 and have had zero leads. Anytime the NNA posts something on social media, theres 10 - 15 notaries saying the same thing.
@alice2uworld I posted previously about this “new product” offered by that business entity. It’s ONLY for GNW.
Concur with @fillionnotary 's assessment.
When I performed research & an analysis of algorithm results, my assessment was identical. Do Not Invest. Not a profitable ROI.
I remember back when I started here (2006) I printed out the list of companies that contract with notaries for loan signings - MANY of the companies listed back then were out of business. Many were also non-responsive.
IOW - that list of companies was a waste of time. Sorry to see they’re now doing it with GNW.
Concur percent with @LindaH-FL
Her post (as noted above) mirrors my experience & analysis of about a decade & a half ago . . .
In addition, I diligently endeavored to coordinate with several directory/business entities requesting that they IDENTIFY those defunct business with a leading code of “Out-of-Business” [OOB] so that we would know that information about that business entity for our analysis. At that point in time there were about 50% of the business entities listed that were ‘dead in the water.’
I even went so far as expending time, energy, & effort to VALIDATE that each of those business entities were TRULY OOB.
Unfortunately, at that point in time each of the directory owners had ABSOLUTELY no interest in cleaning up the mess of a database they were marketing to notaries/professional signing agents [PSAs].
Fast-forward a few years then ALL OF THE SUDDEN, the research & analysis work that I had diligently performed was BIG SURPRISE implemented at one of the directories.
Hmmmm . . . guess the number of complaints about the quantity of OOB listings gave them cause for pause & they finally decided to take action.

Regardless, it has helped to have the OOB coding next to the business entity name listing.

Regarding FindANotary website for GNW . . . As I’ve stated previously, this would be a HARD PASS for me.
See one of my posts on the topic:
Hello all ~ Google search is different by locations. Found there are over 6 entities advertising “Find A Notary” listings for a fee. Only ones I have ever used are NNA and Notary Cafe and other locals like Google (free format). Company went out of business and posted me in my old address on Google and trying to get that removed. With recent updates more advertising but no bites yet ~ signings from repeat clients. I don’t anticipate increase in business until after 1st quarter of 2024. CNBC Squawk Box stated 1/3 of property sales in 2023 were cash sales. Many of the McMansions in Bonney Lake area are cash sales. Building keeps going on but I wonder when water and power will become a major issue. Political climate needs to settle down for investors to feel more confident.
