Note the question mark. Today I received text offers from a purportedly new player called The Closing Exhange, on the ND platform, showing my history of declined orders. Hmmm. (Same insultingly low rates, BTW) Anyone else note this?
I have not received any, however would you please tell me what the ND platform is?
Thanks
Bill
The Closing Exchange is now Notary Direct. The company was recently acquired so I’m interested to see what will change. I did notice lower fees over the past few weeks.
Yes. $40 for a refi 20 miles away? Keep lookin’!
I think I got dropped off of ND text list. I didn’t send in my qualification updated paperwork this time. I cannot afford to work for their low fees. Too bad because I never had any problem with payment from them.
ND did send out checks. But The Closing Whatever seems to be aiming toward the pay model of companies like Onsource or WeGoLook - which is to say, virtually nothing. Still, I’m sure their clients will soon realize that the old saw - you get what you pay for - continues to hold true, as they have to deal with delay after delay.
Yes-
I just got the same thing. An offer from The Closing Exchange and it clearly is the Notary Direct platform. In checking further I noted that if you agree to do signings with them, you are also agreeing to $50 per closing…PERIOD.
Really?? No thanks.
“But you’ll make it up in volume…” Apparently working at a loss is better if you do it MANY TIMES.
Notary Direct’s proprietary order system.
I’ve been getting these offers for about a week as well. Disappointing and almost insulting offers. I either don’t respond or I will decline offers. Occasionally they will call me directly and they will meet my rate, and they will pay in a reasonable amount of time. Anyone else have this experience?
I used to love ND at the beginning, then their fees started to drop and I felt insulted. Sometimes they call me and offers me a higher fee, but not much anymore…definitively you get what you pay
Yes. The Closing Exchange has acquired Notary Direct and others. I checked my profile on The Closing Exchange
to make sure I was still in their database and that the information is correct. I have already accepted an assignment
from them and have been paid.
I received the same. Tried to log in and would not accept my old password. I tried to change password and they did not recognize my email address?
It’s amazing they continue to drop fees and some Notarys still take the work. However the cost of doing business has increased, gas, paper, toner has all gone up but they want to pay less. In my opinion they can keel looking.
Most of them low ball me all the time anyway. I have my own set fees for the area’s I do, and that’s what I quote them. Take it or leave it. I don’t play their fee games anymore either. If they don’t call me back with approval within a few hours, and I know they’re calling back because they couldn’t find anyone else to do it, yet played with me because they didn’t want to pay my fee, I tell them I’m sorry, the time they’re looking for has been filled, and I have no availability available for the rest of that day. They panic at this point, begging for you to help them out, but you can’t let them play with you, or they’ll do just that. I get respect now after years of dealing with their antics, and it was so worth it. Nations Direct, whether owned by someone new or not, will pay my fees as well, or find someone else to do the job. We work too hard, and I for one, take my job, and reputation too seriously, to be played by any of them. For any of you that haven’t sat down and calculated your fees, according to location, type of closing, printing, fax backs, materials, and extraordinary time of day, including holidays and weekends, etc., I suggest you do. Refer to your fees everytime you get a call. Add or subtract according to your fee schedule if you want, but don’t detract from it. You’ll be running around with your head cut off, stressing yourself out, and ultimately not get paid your worth, if you don’t come up with a reasonable fee schedule soon. Trust me, they’ll figure out your worth soon enough, and treat you with respect when they call, not as if your their gopher.
I worked with Notary Direct in the past, thinking if they seen how Professional, Quality Detail Oriented and Dependable I was that they would consider my higher fee but that was not the case so I deactivated my account. Their Low fees are insulting.
Yes I received an email and The Closing Exchanged acquired Notary Direct. They asked me to update my information. No thanks I don’t need the calls for the low fees. The only closing I would do for them were the Chase Heloc’s which the borrower met you at the bank with the documents. If it was over 20 miles away forget it. They tried to get me to do a refinance for $70. I laughed at them and told them are you serious. I get paid double that for a basic closing. They are ridiculous with their pricing.
Why & How they are still in business. I beats me.
They sent me an email today.
“One of our largest clients has asked us to reach out to you, as they consider you a preferred vendor for them. In order to offer you their assignments, we are in need of all of your documentation and to have your profile current.”
So why is the “client”, who supposedly considers a preferred vendor, unable to write a direct email to me and employ a middle layer of greed / inefficiency & micromanagement into this relationship by introducing “The Closing Exchange” ?
Hah !! I basically told them to shove it.
They are on my BOYCOTT list and blacklisted by me.
Any other notaries wanna join and put them outta business??
