Please Share: What made you decide to become an LSA or Notary

22 years as a restaurant GM, starting various side hustle businesses with failures and moderate results sprinkled in. Then I had my daughter and really needed to leave the schedule of working holidays, weekends, nights and 50-60 hr weeks.
Researched LSS, started October 20’ p/t 3 weeks then went full time since. Started my SS in March 21’. Total gross $280,000 for 21’($158LSA, $122SS)

The best thing about that is that you don’t have to work the whole year to make that kind of money. I don’t know about you but I take 4 to 6 weeks off to travel with my family across the country.

I opened up a Legal Document Assisting (LDA) business and the notary commission went right along with it.

While I was studying for the notary test, I learned about LSA but decided that at this time, I would just keep an eye on the industry and pursue the LDA.

Totally agree, I try to plan a family vacation each quarter

That is awesome. You put the needs of your family first and was rewarded because of it…love it.

That sounds like a great plan…

By the way, I don’t know why people are saying refi is dead. I’ve been doing mostly refis! This one is the highest cash out for today’s signings! The rest are around $100K to $150K!

Look at line#4!

OK, back to work now….

My career path has me taken from Research and Development Engineering (Applied Electomagnetics) to Law Enforcement (Patrol, Communications Management, Financial Crimes) to Healthcare (Biomedical and Clinical Engineering) and finally, Design Engineering (Medical Devices). I made the decision to retire early, in part to a conflict in professional ethics with my employer, to try something a little different. With BS degrees in Electrical Engineering and Physics, along with an MS in BioPhysics I thought Engineering Consulting would be a good idea.

Then along came COVID. No one in healthcare wanted to hire a Consultant, so I started down the NSA pathway to keep busy. This developed into a small business. Knowing that Real Estate can be a fickle partner, I decided to diversify into Financial Services, focusing on Federal Taxation.

Now you now why I changed my handle from Exeter Notary to Riverpointe Tax.
