I became a Notary/Signing Agent

Along the way. . . a few wives, a couple of daughters, 22 cars, broke 80 three times on the golf course, 8 houses, spinal fusion and reattach right knee to my thigh, no COVID. What was best? Both daughters and my third wife who is my last and forever wife. And the productivity and risk management companies.

I’m exhausted. Gonna tip a coolie when I get back from today’s last signing.

Love it! :grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin:

Whew… I’m exhausted just reading… now I see where the wisdom was born from.

I like the way he listed everything from the past to current. The “skinny kid” part was funny… :joy:

All the hype about it. I am a resently retired nurse and thought it was a good idea to help people from another angle but it doesn’t look like it’s going to do what the hype said it would do. Sigh!!!

Yes I agree with you. Im tired of seeing those YouTube ads about making $10,000 a month doing this business. You dont know what you dont know till you actually do this and see how much time and energy goes into it.

I am new to notary. 6 months in so far. I decided to get into notary because I am a Realtor of 20 years. It’s very easy for me to walk people through signatures. The printing and organizing large loan documents are whats frustrating. But I’m learning.

I love it so far. But I don’t intent to be mobile for long as I do enough driving showing houses and I love my Jeep. Lol

So after 2 years in I’m going 100% remote and this will be my retirement job in 20 years.

God willing :pray:t4:

Love it so far. Slow startup but I’m learning. Signing offerings are picking up.

(LONG STORY AHEAD)

I used to be a travel agent back in 2019 moving from a part time to a full time travel agent. 2020 was the year to work for myself( well…). Covid hit and clients started to cancel their trips, as a travel agent I don’t get paid till the traveler checks in to the resort, cruise line or theme park (EX. Disney land). Luckily I had a job that paid me 19.50 an hour as a industrial painter so I was ok with income BUT I was wrong. The Owners shut the company down and gave us two weeks worth of pay, scared for a job I ended up at a detail shop barely floating $600 bucks a week. So I started to door dash to help supplement my income, well I was making more doing that because people were in quarantine. So I quit the detail shop at the begging of 2021 and DD full time. Now I’m a smart guy and I knew it was a matter of time before this well of door dash would run dry. So I listen to podcast about real estate, investing and house flipping. But I never forget I came across a podcast with a notary named Tiger Toledo, He talked about a gentleman named Andre Hatchett. I stared to research and learn about what this man did and I was hooked, I finished a long day of door dashing and I came home to research his course…and BAM he had a $1500 special for his classes on starting a notary business. I felt out priced again because I didn’t have $1500 to pay for it, let alone a credit card for that amount. That same week but a Sunday afternoon I was picking up a door dash order listen to mark wills interview a 10k a month notary. Well of course I was excited but skeptical like always, that evening while sitting in a drive thru at dairy queen I decided to look at his price for his course expecting the same or more as Mr. Hatchett’s course but no… I was shocked that it was affordable. So I signed up with $88 monthly plan. Now I wish I could say the classic " it took off like a rocket" but no. Matter of fact I got commissioned in April of 2021, pass my LLS course in July of 2021 but didn’t take my first signing till of September of 2021 because I didn’t believe in myself. But for the month of September made $820 bucks, now the signing that set my soul on fire to pursue this was a signing two minutes from my house. it paid $130 scan backs. It took all of a hefty 45 minuets to do because the guy done this before and said “just tell me where to sign”. I came home and told my wife " A job couldn’t pay me to give up my time like before". So my why for this is my peace of mind and freedom. Its been over a year since I had a boss and I don’t plan on having another one.

So do you think that taking Mark Wills way is successful enough to invest in at this point? I’m tapped out financially and need to do something. I’ve taken N2N training first then Notary Essentials and now taking Apostille training. My head us swimming because I’m putting out but nothing is coming in. I have a relative in Ohio that started around the same time I did and she gets signings galore. What am I doing wrong ?

Maybe nothing - where are you located? A key component in this business is location…

Definitely call the signing services and give them compelling reasons to mark you preferred.

Marketing direct is a combination of standing out, adding value and consistently following up weekly.

It sounds like your very willing to hustle to grow your business, the approach and target might need to be tweaked if your closing rate is not there.

Which state are you in?

I left the title insurance industry in 2007 after 35 years. I was 59 and too early to retire so I started calling up my old customers asking if there was anything I could do for them. The first one that had something for me was Lenders Service (since bought by Service Link). They said they do all their own closings now but needed notary signing agents for their closings. So that is how I started.

and why didnt you mention me ??

one day i was on youtube and seen this mousey of a guy with a huge bell pepper nose promoting his LSA business. i only clicked to get a better look at his snout which was just enormous. for him to be able to have signings done in 45min with the beak in everyones face then i know i could do it! so i tried it out and on the first signing he signer offered my items out of the backyard they were trying to get rid of so i was hooked after that although i did get into an argument with the singing service because i didnt feel like confirming that the appt was over because i didnt feel like inputting the fedex numbers
