Question for Everyone

Wondering what company you all are using for your background checks?

Hacked or not, it’s still the one accepted by ALL.

@clgrvs Utilize Background Online for BGCs as it’s ubiquitously accepted across Lenders, Title/Escrow Companies [T/ECs], and others.

@clgrvs – Please cite your source. I was unable to find anything about Backgrounds Online being hacked. Another background checking company, National Public Data, was hacked. https://www.asisonline.org/security-management-magazine/latest-news/today-in-security/2024/august/national-public-data-breach/

Personally, I use Backgrounds Online via NNA as that’s what all of my major partners accept.

Heck! In the past, Social Security has been hacked as has the Pentagon. Currently, cybersecurity breachers, Musk and his minions, are accessing and mining all our information. But, this latter takes us into another realm of discussion … :rage:

I read it was the company that InstaCart uses that got hacked and InstaCart won’t accept any other companies background check go figure.

Apologies, I got them mixed up with National Public Data. They also do background checks. I got a notice from Identiy Guard last year that my SS# was found on the dark web because of their data breach (NPD). So retraction of my first post…

I wish I know how my information was collected by NPD. And yes, to your last comment on mining our information.

I use Background Online – via NNA. Accepted by all, as @Arichter says, and for the convenience and simplicity.

Please note that Backgrounds Online will do the same background check privately that they do thru the NNA. The catch? if done privately, it will NOT show up in the ‘acceptable’ place–your NNA profile page. Yes, it sucks, but that doesn’t make it any less true, sadly.

I couldn’t believe it last year when InstaCart wouldn’t accept the NNA company.

I stopped working for them anyway.

Thanks for all your replies. I will go with Backgrounds online via NNA.

@clgrvs You’re Welcome :tada:

As I indicated above, Backgrounds online is reputable & normally quite prompt.

TO ALL MEMBERS: Remember to place your Background Check [BGC] order through your membership account on the NNA site as it integrates your BGC into all their platforms & websites. In addition, Lenders, Title/Escrow Companies [T/ECs], and others can easily access it (the overview page) directly through that platform; i.e., gives them peace of mind.

Also, you do NOT have to be a member of NNA to get either the SA BGC nor listed as an SA. It does take a bit of digging around on the site. The NNA directory is completely randomized and pretty worthless anyway.

Musk had all that info when he owned PayPal. I don’t think that’s an issue.

NNA. Comes back to me in days.

I go through the NNA website
