Are there any Florida Notaries or anyone who has moved out of state with advice?
I am moving from Michigan to the Orlando Florida area by the end or November. How long does it take to get a new Florida driver’s license and Notary commission?
How’s the notary market around Orlando? I see many companies with job openings for candidates with a notary license.
I’m not in Orlando…but I can tell you that as soon as you establish residency you can go get your DL - in fact, I believe you MUST get a FL DL within one year of moving here. They issue on the spot.
Notary Commission - depending on who you go through - mine usually takes 2-3 weeks - don’t recall how long it took first time around but we moved here May 26, 2006 and my commission date was 6/28/2006.
As for business in Orlando? Very densely populated - do a search here for notaries in the zip code where you’re going; then do the same zip code search on NotRot; can also do one on NNA site and can google search "notary public (zip code) " - that will give you an idea of your competition - you can check out the state website for your zip but that won’t tell you how many notaries do loan signings.
