Selecting a RON Platform

Hi,

I have been a Texas notary since 2021 and got my RON in Oct. Based on all the info in notarycafe forums(Thanks), I chose Notarize and OneNotary for my ODN. I found out Notarize has its own digital certificate and wouldn’t accept any other certificate. I also completed my NSA training and want to do RON loan signings. I have to chose Notarize or other platforms as Texas only accepts only one digital certificate. Anyone faced the same issue?

Hmmm. I purchased mine from the NNA. At the time I was only on Notarize, before they allowed notaries to bring their own business. I elected not to purchase their certificate (notary stamp) from Notarize because they would not allow me to use it on any other platform. Ask them if you’d be able to use your own. They should provide you that option especially when you’re on multiple platforms.

When I started out, I wanted to look at several. Due to the simplicity, pricing and benefits, one I chose was Blue Notary. That was a huge mistake. The cost was $297 for their “Notary Pro”, which allows you to take “Open Calls”. You get all these notifications for a notary and witness, but they don’t show up on your dashboard. Then when you contact support, you get a ridiculous response of refresh your screen, you have to keep doing that. Ok, then you get a “too many requests” and that’s it. I tried to explain this to the support people, more ridiculous responses. I sent an email to the main support email, no response. In digging, I found that they have an F rating with BBB and that there are several complaints. I looked up their LLC in Illinois, which they were forced to shut down, the person running it, Karena Blue. Then it is reopened by Andy Blue, but he is listed in other places as Andy Ayer. You dig further, and it just becomes more convoluted.
I would avoid them at ALL costs.
