Sig/Name Affidavit

Is it okay to go through with notarizing a doc if the name variations are off, if the signers signs the Sig/Name Affidavit and puts the name in the AKA’s sections?

For example:

Veronica Marie Smith is on the ID but the paper work say Ronnie Marie Smith.

A lot of people refer to Veronicas as Ronnie’s

Sig Aff: has Veronica and ronnie listed

Ex 2

ID: John Mattie Black

Sig line: John Mattie Black !!!

You can’t use the Sig/Name Affidavit to support identification. Besides, that document is notarized too - so how did you notarize that? Did the signature on the docs match the signature on the ID?

I, personally, would have refused to notarize unless she could produce another acceptable form of ID- yes Ronnie could be Veronica - Ronnie could also be Ronald.

IMO the docs need a re-draw or she needs new ID that conforms to how she took title.

I agree with LndaH-FL that the Sig/Name Affidavit wouldn’t affect my decision. Ms. Smith tells me orally that Ronnie is a nickname for Veronica; I believe her or I don’t. Her taking an oath to that effect in connection with the Sig/Name Affidavit doesn’t make what she said any more convincing. She would need to present something else to support “Ronnie”.

As for the second example, I’ve never seen a name written with exclamation points. Mr. Black would have to give a satisfactory explanation of why there are exclamation points after his name.

I think that means “the third”…not positive.
