This company owes me well over $400 and they won’t pay me…beware!!
Let Title company know. They probably won’t pay you, but do tend to get on SS case about non-payment to notaries. Sometimes they need to be gently reminded that it’s Title’s reputation on the line for choosing to work with deadbeats.
Same here. I’m on day 112 without payment for one signing. I have somewhere around twenty five emails back and forth with them and they have excuse after excuse. AVOID taking any signings with this company.
Me, too. I foolishly accepted an assignment from them in July. They call is September to re-negotiate the fee because “we didn’t make any money on this signing”. That tactic isn’t new to them apparently. Now, they ignore my emails. Next step is to contact the title company and lender and see if they can help.
Them not making any money has nothing to do with us - we did our job we must get paid for the job - it is that simple. Due to federal regulation the mobile notary signing agent should have absolutely no strings attached “No skin in the game“ we are not there to be sales people we are there to witness signatures. If a signing agency Or title company decide they’re going to shortchange me I let them know at that time I need a check within 72 hours or I report them to either their customer i.e. the lender or title company. As a last resort if they never pay you they should be reported to CFPB for TILA RESPA violations. I have always received a paycheck after letting them know I would bill their customers. ( never the borrowers! You were not contracted by the borrowers and the borrowers have already paid their fees in they’re closing that was collected ) These people that don’t pay are unprofessional and should not be in the business. If more notaries would stick together and stop taking lowball fees The man at the top loan officer/lender/title companies will have no choice but to pay more. They paid more 10 years ago than they are paying now with none of their fees going down they have only gone up so why has ours gone down? Don’t let them fool you they also get government funds in the back when helping certain borrowers. You would at least start seeing the respect we deserve in our pockets. In most cases nowadays we are the only one on one personal contact to their customers. That has value and so does your great service!
