So tired of scammers!

I received a new scam email this morning! I deleted it immediately. New notaries beware!

This one named their business, Momentum Signing Services LLC!
And they want to help me apply for an EIN number, and offered to help me open a bank account! Ugh!!!

Even conmen have families to feed too I guess… they aren’t getting my money though…

They’re getting worse! I feel bad for those that fall for it because many have and thats how they stay in business.

Yeah it was a long email, there were all kinds of links that they want you to click on if you’re stupid enough to do so, gosh….

So this is why I research such emails in depth so I don’t lose any unnecessary business. They are a legit registered LLC who not only offer notary services, but also provide other services like “setting up” an LLC and registering your business. Not sure how the checking account stuff came into play other than an option to pay for the services you order. They are registered through FL SOS (Melbourne). Based on your email, looks like they got you for sales purposes as opposed to recruiting, as they do both. Looks like they charge to list you on other platforms (another middle man gig).

Sorry, I’m on super high alert when I see any emails from companies I never subscribed to.
I’m glad you checked them out maybe you’ll get a bunch of business from them!

I hear ya, but you never know. Doing that research and reaching out on such a “suspicious” email can become a “bread winner” for you. Especially if they are a local company near you. Show up with a box of donuts and business cards, it works (well DID prior to COVID). Haven’t tried it yet post COVID :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Great advice! Unless the signing company can pay within two weeks or less then no thank you:)

Oh boy, you might be in rough shape then. I think I can count on one hand in 10 years how many paid me within 2 weeks, especially through SS companies.

Don’t get me wrong, I have worked with Signing services in the past and I didn’t get paid up to 45 days later! Did not like that and I’ve decided not to work with companies that take so long to pay!

We all just need to do what is best for our situation whether we decide to take signing from signing services that may take longer to pay or taking low fees etc…

I hear ya, but the problem is “usually” not on the company that hired you. It (depending on your area) could be just the timeframe it takes the lender to close the loan. Also, deeds/title need to be recorded with counties, which may take even longer (especially since COVID). Usually clients set payment terms based on the “average” time it takes them to close and disperse in a specific area, or in general, they will add extra time to be safe. They just don’t want to pay you for something until they got what they paid you for, and that’s for the loan to close successfully.

My father used to always say “as long as someone owes you, you will never be broke!” Get that money (it’s in the bank). Payment terms expire, then collect (don’t forget to charge interest!) A “past due” invoice with interest brings payment on real quick!

I like that! Maybe you are making me look at things a little differently!

I’m not perfect. I am human. I just need someone to knock some sense into me once in a while! :upside_down_face:

Again, that’s what we are all here for (minus the knocking part!)
