I have received several assignments from one company. They request me all the time. I received a signing for the same people the third time. The officer said to me “Laurie thank you so much, I will make sure you get more for this. I will be calling the platform now to increase your fee as you were willing to go out on a Sunday night at 9:00 pm. I said thanks this was after I completed this order. I contacted the scheduler and she came back and said once the order is completed we cannot pay you. I sent her the snapshot of my conversation on the phone as we were texting back and fourth and she said the order was completed. Meanwhile, I know he increased the fee and they kept it. What do you do? Different topic, what do you charge when supplying a witness?
No signing service is your friend. Some are more reasonable than others, but they will always look out for their own interests first. I would take whatever they say about more money with a grain of salt. Believe it when you see it.
Regarding witnesses, my policy is simple. I don’t supply them….period. They wouldn’t pay me enough to make it worth my time and trouble. I, as the notary, will act as the 2nd witness if needed, but the signer has to supply the primary witness.

[/quote] $25 minimum… more for distance–just like you–time is money. As to any fee changes for any reason–GET IT IN WRITING from hiring party/SS or no-go.
The platform kept the additional fee provided to accommodate the additional rigors on your part? Reach out to the hiring entity & advise them of how the transaction was managed.
Keep in mind that nothing will probably change in regard to the Fee you receive from the signing for this particular Signing Order . . .

Regardless of what the conversation was with the officer, you get paid what the signing service agreement states. You can’t get a higher fee after the scheduling conversation is over, in my experience. I don’t supply witnesses. The one time I did I charged $50 per witness. I sign all over the place and am not going to be responsible for finding witnesses places I don’t live. I just don’t take those orders.
