The Notary Spot is defunct

Dear ALL

Do not accept assignments from The NOTARY Spot. They have been banned from carrington title.
I did few assignments for carrington thru the spot. Now I am in a spot, left holding the bag. Its empty bag, no cash, no checks. The notary spot checks also bounce NSF.

They previously operated as Mid State notaries, and I wonder what new avatar Michael Tomlinson ( owner ) is going to take to continue this game of defrauding notaries.

I am going to

  1. File complaint of theft of service with state AG office where he/ his office is located
  2. File same complaint with my State AG
  3. Hold Title / escrow for responsible.
  4. Find enough notaries nation wide and file class action.

I intend to shake up the entire Title / Signing agency nexus and fight for notaries fair pay, fast pay.

When responding , please post the following

Name of signing agency
Date of signing
Name of Escrow / title
Name of Lender
County & State in which signing occurred

Thanks for the update. I have many signings with them, that I was just told they can not pay me. Let me know what the next steps are with this. I am all in.

I too am awaiting payment for jobs I completed in June. No response from anyone. Count me in!

Please contact the Title / Escrow / Lender and write an email with all details you have and make your “DEMAND of PAYMENT for Notary Services”
Tell them TheNotarySpot has not been paying notaries nationwide.

Keep this email for your records.

Talked with Carrington. Email address previously given is incorrect. Its Jack.Kozak@Carringtontss.com. Bottom line of my conversation–they are getting a lot of inquiries and sounds like they cannot reach Tomlinson either. He assures me Carrington has a vetting process for its vendors but did not work in this case. He tells me if vendor was paid our issue is with vendor. Sounds like Carrington will not pay us

Jack Kozak is their attorney. If you are going to provide anything in writing , get your own lawyer ( May be not worth it considering their prices and hassle) … You can follow what I am doing.

The lawyer for carrington or title will ask you to email in writing to admit that you dealt with signing service company and that you were expecting payment from them. If you write that email, you have absolved the title of any and all responsibility and you will never ever have a chance of getting your payments.

However it is of my view and to the be taken in courts when i file the case and seek class action status that:

  1. Carrington title accepted the work i did for them as a notary / closing agent.
  2. To ensure their loan transaction is legally notarized
  3. Carrington profited off this transaction while seeking notary services.
  4. Escrow whose job is to ensure that funds to interested parties are properly deposit , failed on that aspect and hence the escrow / lender / or disburser of funds is responsible for non payment.

This is my case and argument in case and hence I have NOT RESPONDED to their ATTORNEY to anything in writing. He was supposed to call me to discuss, but never did.

So be careful when dealing with attorney from an opposing side.

It’s kind of a Nuclear option but you can send notice to title that you intend to place a lien on the property if you are not paid within 30 days.

You can also notify the borrowers that they were charged for notary services in their loan but those payments have not been received.

Please let me know how to get involved. Michael Tomlinson at The Notary Spot owes me $985! The last company that went out of business 24-7 NNN stiffed me for $780. This has to stop!!!

I did not know that if you respond to Carrington you forfeit everything.
After Googling found this website http://TheNotarySpotIsCrooked.com
It looks like they are going to make a class action law suit against The Notary Spot.

Did you or anyone signed up? I have only one payment pending but it’s not the amount but the principle. They used us to profit and never paid…

I received a notification for them this morning for a refinance with Smart Financial… I refused the order as they still owe me for an order I completed in August.

I Sent Notary Spot a letter and CC’d Carrington . Lawyer from Carrington states that they paid The Notary Spot and that I have to go after The Notary Spot for payment.
Also filed a complaint with BBB. They replied back that they cannot do anything and that I should pursue legal action.
Perhaps the next step is the Attorney General’s office…

Also File a complaint t with state insurance & title license & banking authorities. Craft your complaint also with small claims court.

Michael Tomlinson , owner of notary spot amongst other names , should go to jail. So lodging a theft of service, mail wire frauds with approriate authority in Texas is also recommended.

I did a couple closings for notary spot on June and July $ 560.00 no payment since them I called and emailed send letter to them no reply from them this has to stop whatever you planning to do I’m in.

I want in on this Lajuene Notaries Ron Raynor has done this to many people

I’m in. They need to be stopped.

If any new news please let us know thanks
