TheBestNotary.Net Payment Issues

Completed a signing on 7/29/2025 for The Best Notary https://thebestnotary.net/ and have not received payment. Sent my invoice 14 times, multiple phone calls to 510-373-0881 and text messages to 415-754-4784 and no response and/or they write back to state they are reaching out to the accounting department. It’s been 58 days since this signing. Anyone else have had experience with this company?

Here is another discusasion on notary cafe about them. Has anyone worked for TheBestNotary.net?

Thanks for the info. I saw that and wanted to see if there are other notaries recently with a similar experience. This was for a Trust/Will assignment and so far I have been “ghosted”.

Good luck in collecting. I will add this service to the list of don’t work for them. At this rate the list is getting to long to remember.

 Yes, it’s good to bring some awareness and recent reviews! I will work on positive reviews as well to make it easier for us Closers/ Notary Signing Agents to accept assignments.

It has been years since I completed a signing with them. I thought they were no longer in business.

I competed one in 7/29/2025. Both witnesses for this signing also reached out and let me know they also did not get paid. So this signing includes 3 notaries they were not planning to pay. They have one more business day to provide payment or unfortunately I will need to escalate this issue. Lesson learned and we all know now to not complete business with them. From other comments and deeper investigations, it seems common for them not to pay mobile notaries hired by their company and have been getting away with it for quite sometime.

I completed a witness signing on behalf of The Best Notary on 7/18/25. I know the other notary didn’t get paid either. After 3 months of going back-and-forth with this company, I finally filed suit. After all the emails and certified mailings, I finally got a call from Elijah Angote ( CEO) trying to negotiate with me into accepting $50 after he received the court documentation. They even tried sending the funds electronically, which I returned. We’ll see what the court say this Friday. I’m prepared to garnish his earnings, file a complaint with the state of California, and take steps to see if I can have his license pulled as a notary. There have been complaints going back for years about this company and no one seems to have stopped this man.

Don’t give up! I’m attaching a good address for them.

“There have been complaints going back for years about this company and no one seems to have stopped this man.”

This is the kind of vetting that should be done BEFORE working with any company – not after you find yourself chasing payment. This particular company has had payment issues for years. The history is there.

Yes, they should be stopped. But people keep working for them and keeping them in business.

Its amazing you tell people and they don’t pay attention.

I eventually got paid 78 days later after sending constant messages, text messages, and even certified mail. If you’re in California, it’s more affordable to take them to small claims court. If not, it becomes more expensive because an out-of-state claim may require paying higher filing fees, possibly hiring a lawyer, and having someone—such as a U.S. Marshal—serve the papers, which can cost another $150 or more. The process may be different depending on your state.

Please keep us updated and let us know how things go. Thank you for taking this step. It’s time to put an end to this unethical behavior!

Any update on what happened at court Friday?

TBN filed a last-minute Intent to Defend. There’s a new court date in mid-December.
