Timios beware

I’m sad to write this because I worked for this company many times in the past and never had a problem. I conducted a signing for them in February and sent an email a few days ago to inquire about when I would receive the payment. I received this response:

“The invoice below has been received. As you may be aware, Timios is in the process of winding down operations. We have been engaged as consultants to support them in this transition. We do not have an estimated timeline for when you will be notified about expected payment. We are still in the process of gathering information from Timios vendors and working to monetize accounts receivable to address outstanding obligations. We will provide an update to you as soon as we have additional information to share. We apologize for the inconvenience.”

Bummer!! I’m aware of steps to collect, I just thought I would share this with you all as an FYI

That email could have been summed up in two words: Good luck.

Seriously though, this is a shame. Timios seemed like a good company, in the experiences that I had working for them. They always paid in a tiimely manner and there was never an issue. I have no idea what went wrong, but the good companies for signing agents to work with is now losing one of the “good guys”.

I just removed Timios from my active signing service list. They could have notified all the notaries they’ve worked with that they are going out of business and please send your final invoices for yet unpaid work. Alas. . . .

Good to know, thank you. Timios is now OFF my list, too.

They were owned in China. I won’t miss a company that pays a maximum of $90 for up to 205 pages and gets rude about print fees or counteroffers.

a closed for them and they do Signing‘s nationally but thank you for posting this. That’s all other notaries. You haven’t worked for them are aware.

I used to counteroffer them all the time, and I got some. They were never rude to me. That was in better times, though. Obviously, things have changed and they have gone over to the dark side.

Thank you for letting us all know.

I have past due invoices from last year. Timios has not responded to any of my requests for payments. I have contacted the title companies for each signing. Finally got payment for one. Still waiting for the dec 2025 signing.

Hi, has there been any update. I did a signing in Dec and have not been paid. My emails are unanswered and all their contact phone numbers are no longer in service. I’ve worked with Timios for years and never had a problem. This is very disappointing.

Timios declared bankruptcy and is no longer in business. From Google:

Timios Title & Escrow is no longer operating as a going‑concern. Multiple credible sources indicate that the company is in the process of winding down operations and is being transitioned out of business.

Current situation

  • Winding down: Timios has publicly told vendors and partners that it is “in the process of winding down operations” and that they are working with consultants to handle the transition Notary Cafe Forums.

  • Payment issues: Many former clients and service providers report that Timios is not paying outstanding invoices, and the company has refused to discuss or resolve these matters Notary Cafe Forums**+1**.

  • Bankruptcy filing: On December 4, 2024, Timios Holdings Corp. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware (Case No. 24‑12732), jointly administered with Ideanomics, Inc. @bohardnotary I also have direct experience working with Timios over the years; however, when their fees took a nosedive . . . I opted for :prohibited: HARD PASS. :prohibited:

Sorry to read about this extended Non-Payment status.

Hi Alicia,

I did receive payment from them. It took 3 months. Here is an email I received that hopefully can help you! Since I had already received my payment I did not utililize the information so as always, exercise caution with providing to much information (like banking) just in case…

I assume it was legitimate but you never know!
