Two & half years later -- Anyone still rejecting $75 signings

I don’t accept 75 anymore. I did one today for 90 because it was under 10 miles one way. The other one was a rush and they called direct to ask me to do it. So I got more than usual. And I like accommodating rush orders. They seem to give me more work. I may have been able to get $10 more, but I’d rather get more orders overall. I want to know who is doing HELOCS for $50. Not me.

I’m in the southwest suburbs of Illinois. I’m not taking anything less than $100, and I counter a lot. Very few I’m actually awarded, but also totally ok with that, as even at $100, I’m not making millions, so I’m not going to take assignments just so that I can say I’m working.

This past Monday. I took a $75 signing–that was my counter–because it was 4 pages (B’s copy included), was 4 miles from home & had to pass FedEx on way home. As I also had to go out anyway to grocery store and so pass right by signing location–the whole thing was as close to pure profit as is ever likely to happen.

A rarity but a pleasant rarity easy peasy.

Not like these crazy 200 page refis for 75

Absolutely, I concur. We should not be taking all these low ball prices. Let’s stick to our standards. Today I was offerred $150, then countered to $250, believe me you I got the job. It’s about experience, and your track record with the signing company. It’s about under 2 hours of commute, they accepted my offer. It’s a simple refi.

Case in point: Today, I’ve seen an offer go from $60 to $150. Seems like my area’s people are finally getting some smarts and saying NO TO LOW. For me, it’s still too low due to distance, but I hope someone closer gets it for a fee that turns a profit.

I had a company call me directed and wanted me to do a reverse signing for $125.00 I told her my fee for that was $225. She asked me if I’d go lower and I said no that’s my fee any lower than that it’s not worth doing. Those are normally 200 plus pages and the normally take 2/3 hours

I take them all the time. If they are doc ready, within a decent drive radius and of a lower page printing. Some days taking the small ones help add the business by the end of the month. I gain repeat customers that way too. I leave pens at each signing with my info for them to reach out or to recommend to others.
