Had a signing with a lovely couple Monday, scanned and dropped same day. I got a receipt though. Now my phone and email is being blown up , I sent the receipt so they’re not blaming me per se but they definitely want to get with fed ex ….
I really hope this turns up so it’s not a re-sign , but this is why that stupid receipt matters . I never thought it would happen to me, until it did . CYA my friends .
Had one go missing for a week before it finally showed up where it was supposed to be. What was really odd is that it didn’t show anywhere in the system between label creation and delivery a week later.
“CYA” is right! So glad you made sure to get a drop receipt. UPS, FedEx, DHL, USPS, whom-ever… their fabulous tracking systems only work when each delivery driver actually SCANS them.
Is it that the package is lost or they didn’t get it the next day? There’s a self-serve kiosk at FedEx. Do not use it and drop your package in that box. Because the FedEx Office did not clear out that box before the last pick up, and the package did not get out. Always, always had the package to the employee behind the counter.
Well, when I walk into FedEx now, they have that dumb kiosk right there in front and they’ll badger me right away until I use it. They won’t even take it behind the counter. That’s why it’s there. They don’t want to be bothered with that any more because they’re so short-staffed. They would rather focus on printing.
The indoor, Fedex STORE kiosk that I’m always directed to use issues me a nice receipt immediately and before I drop the package in the receptacle. I don’t drop until it prints. As long as I get a receipt, I consider it all good. I’ve done my job as agreed upon by all parties. If Fedex messes up, it’s not on me. What more should I do?
Where I live there isn’t a Fedex store at all, I am forced to use dollar general or Walgreens, and Walgreens isn’t it, so I use dollar general. but I still get my receipt . rural southern life…., but I agree Fedex isn’t customer forward .
We all learn, at one point or another, that getting a receipt is imperative. If you don’t, that will surely be the one time that the package gets lost, and you will be blamed for it.
There has been two incidents ( both on a Fri a week apart) during the last storm where the driver NEVER stopped to pick up at my local drop off site. (Mail shipping office that gives receipts - not a Walgreens, DG, etc). I will always get a receipt now because it saved me. I also had one I dropped on a Thursday morning and got a call the next Monday that it was not received. Tracking showed it went from my location in NM, to Albuquerque and didn’t make it to Phoenix until Monday and didn’t arrive to VA ( final destination) until Friday. I’m beginning to wonder if this storm if FedEx was telling their drivers not to pick up packages because they have nowhere to put them because planes were not traveling and neither were semis going east.
Unfortunately in some remote areas, there is no place to drop the packages other than a drop box, Walgreens, or Dollar General.
It does take time away from my day but I normally wait at the drop box so that I can place the package in the hand of the driver and watch him scan it.
I had that happen to me as well…it’s the bad weather delays at the airports or hubs. Once it’s delayed, all bets are off as far as time frame. Mine was 5 days after due date, came from Texas up to Memphis hub and down to Florida. Both those areas had airport issues. Thank goodness for those receipts. If not, should have still scanned in when picked up to show in their possession.
I have very limited choices , for ups my only option is a drop box or an hours drive to drop it at a hardware store store or drop box , Fedex is dollar general only or drop box , I try to scan in the car and drop at an actual location but there’s only one trusted place for fed ex they too are an hour away and its a printing store and thats an hour way from my house not necessarily the signing . I live in very rural arkansas, and a lot of my signings aren’t in larger cities , its rough as most don’t want to pay for an additional 2 hours drive for me too make same day drop before cut off which for the hardware store is noon and print shop is 4:30 ish, I always disclose the situation at order initiation .
thank you for understanding this situation, I try to drop around pick up time but my two closest towns with boxes are an hour each way so I can’t really wait usually, but I do disclose the situation upon taking an order its good you get to wait or hand off .
Just curious will they come to you if you request a pick up? I have accounts with both but I never set up pick up because there’s a ship center in my town. I don’t know if that has to be paid for, I was just curious.
If you scanned them to them and you have a receipt, did you send them a pic of the receipt? If not, do so that is your guarantee ticket to freedom. After that, your obligation is done. You are not responsible of what the drop of does, or FedEx, for that matter, you can lookup to see if it was at least picked up. I actually schedule FedEx to pickup at my office that way I know it is picked up officially, you can also schedule a pickup from your home, I have had to do that on a Saturday as we don’t have local pickups on the weekends and dropoff locations.
I can’t even imagine working in an environment like that. I have at least 5 FedEx offices and 5 UPS stores within a 15-20 minute drive from my house. Usually, wherever I drive to, there are offices along the way where I can drop if convenient. Driving two hours round trip just to drop a package doesn’t make any sense at all for the fees that we get paid.
