I apologize for the late response. I have been recovering from surgery related to s new cancer diagnosis.
There appears to be 2 entities with the same name. When I do a corporate agent search one comes up with the same address and contact info as Cloud Signings.
Tge other business with the same name is in a different location.
I don’t have a good idea as to how we can differentiate the two if tge assignment comes through a signing service. If it was a direct hire ig would be easy to compare office addresses and contact info.
The Cloud signing LLCis the dead beat they are located in PA, they have also changed there name to Mortgage Connect both are listed in the vendor list on this site. The other one has a slightly different name and is located in CA.
The phone number on that Notice is the main number for Mortgage Connect. I just happen to have completed a signing for MC and that number is listed on my confirmation.
That PDF file may be marked “Cloud” because they saved it to a cloud … ? Just a theory.
I’m still getting Mortgage Connect blast offers (not through Signing Order nor SnapDocs) or a phone call from them. I counter-offer all their ridiculously low blast offers and when they call, I ask all pertinent questions and give them a quote. They’ve accepted almost all quotes made during a phone call and a few made to counter their blasts.
All this to say: I don’t believe Cloud Signings has rebranded themselves to now be named Mortgage Connect, LP.
I agree that Cloud Signings [probably] has not re-branded themselves as Mortgage Connect. The Mortgage Connect I have worked for in the past is its own separate entity as near as I can tell. I don’t know how Cloud could convert their name to MC without violating the law/rule/regulation covering such things (e.g. copyright, dba, etc.) Maybe MC bought Cloud - who knows.
Too much speculation going on. Actual proof is what’s called for.
Mortgage Connect is not attached to Cloud Signing, I have worked with both. If you look at the Secretary of State in both States that they are listed in, that will show any connection or not. I am a Forensic Accountant as well as a Notary.
Mortgage companies that assign work to them should be aware that continued engagement may expose them to potential liability associated with Cloud Signing’s dishonest practices.
I actually called Mortgage Connect regarding Cloud Signing. Mortgage Connect sends some of their signings to Cloud Signing. I have always been paid for the few signings I did for Cloud after sending several invoices and then threatening action against them. Mortgage Connect said that in the event I did not receive payment they would investigate it. I let them know what several notaries have gone through with them.
For clarification, the Title of this thread may need an Edit . . .
CURRENT THREAD TITLE: “Well Known No Pay Signing Service Has A New Name”
PROPOSED NEW THREAD TITLE: ”Well Known No Pay Signing Service Has A New Twist - Mortgage Connect sends some of their signings to Cloud Signing”
Many Thanks to @brucem1213 for alerting us to this situation AND to @susan61107 for doing the Research discovering the method utilized by Cloud Signing.
It may be in some regions MC doesn’t have enough notaries signed up on their site so they use a 3rd party to find a notary as is suggested here when someone said they have gone through Cloud Signings.
It’s not my experience. I have never worked for Cloud.
Bravo for your additional leg work in verifying the connection between these two entities.
Sadly, I have been quite sick due to treatments for melanoma and just haven’t been able to follow up on this thread.
I also agree with the other post that stated that the title of this thread should be modified to “”Well Known No Pay Signing Service Has A New Twist - Mortgage Connect sends some of their signings to Cloud Signing”. Kudos to that individual as well. I have contacted a moderator to make that change, as I cannot make the edit due to the amount of time that has passed.
I did talk to them, I also advised them of the problems that the notaries are having and they are going to stop sending them orders due to this. I usually deal with Mortgage Connect directly not through Cloud, I am still dealing with the late payments and I will be emailing them today to follow up on the invoices I had to send, like they can’t use the platform for the invoices, that is what the platform is for in the first place.
