When/why does notary work slow down?

Hello, I’m curious if notary work tends to slow down during certain times of the year (ie. winter when there are less home sales). And I imagine it drops significantly when rates go up because people aren’t refinancing? I’m guessing it’s not always going to be this good lol…
Thanks in advance!

You got that right. Once interest rates go up, refis are done.

I don’t have a crystal ball but eventually the loan signing assignments will slow down. When it does is anyone’s guess. Back in the 2000’s the California notary ranks swelled to almost 500,000 but by 2012 over half of those notaries didn’t renew their commission. You will know the signs when the orders start to dry up and signing services stop using the newest commissioned notaries.
