I am registering for RON, who is a good provider to start with?
Nexey Clear Sign, But You need to do business with title companies that have that platform, at no expense to you
Get set up with Amrock.
noblenotary615 , are you getting much business from Amrock? I’ve noticed some posts on this forum suggesting that Amrock has kinda taken a dip and their orders are down to a trickle. Just wondering.
How do I find the title companies that use Nexey?
It’s not Nexey, it’s called Nexsys. Amrock uses them…
Thank you Noble, i thought it was Nexsys.
@vking4847, Hi Vickie. I say first decide what route you want.
Route 1: if you are looking to work as a contract notary for a company like Notarize.com where you sign in bulk and get paid $5 for the first notarization and $1 for each additional. Down side is that pay is lowwwww. Upside is that there is minimal investment on your part.
Route 2: if you want to a complete platform to be able to upload documents and notarize directly for your customers yourself at $25 per notarization. “Online Notaries registered in Florida may charge up to $25 per notarization. An additional fee of $20 may be charged for making and delivering electronic copies of a given series of related electronic records as long as you disclose this amount to the signer prior to making the copies.”
If Route 2 sounds better to you, you might take a good close look at SIGNix, which I just got certified on last week. The down side to running your own platform might be the upfront cost for the software. I paid extra so that I could have support when I need it. You can pay monthly, or pay a lump sum for an annual rate for SIGNiX. I chose the annual rate for the best price. There is an annual fee plus you pay $10 per notarization and $5 each additional notarization. So if you are charging $25 per notarization, you are making about $15/notarization. Another potential downside if you are not comfortable with technology, is that there is a significant learning curve with all RON software, not just SIGNiX, and it takes some practice to learn how to use the program and tag documents. You will want to practice RON sessions with your SIGNiX trainers. You can attend live Zoom training as often as you want until you are comfortable. You will get to do as many free “demo” modes while you are learning and you won’t get charged for those. I am worried about having to do troubleshooting for people that don’t know how to use their computers or how to pass knowledgebase authentication so their identity can be verified online. But I will cross that bridge when I come to it. I know there is a limit to what I can do for people who do not know how to use their own equipment. Those folks might need to stick to wet signings hahahaha.
I have been researching RON software for a LONG TIME. Two years, in fact. I am in Washington and our RON rules are a bit wonky for notaries. So I resisted. I decided to jump in. Rules have been clarified. I don’t like the part where I am required to store audio video files and whatnot for TEN YEARS and have it backed up on another machine for TEN YEARS, but oh well.
Since you are in Florida, I think SIGNiX has you guys pretty much squared away. The company and trainers are in Tennessee, so at least you would closer, time zone-wise, when you need to call tech support. It is a 2 hour time difference for me. And it would just be a 1 hour time difference for you in Florida.
The UPSIDE is that you are running your own platform, running your own RON business. Get training and watch the SIGNiX videos. SIGNiX has a pretty good training academy and knowledge base you can read through: SIGNiX eNotary/RON - Knowledge Base
You can get trained and CERTIFIED on SIGNiX. After you complete your training you can take a test to become certified. After you complete 25 RON sessions they will add you to their Notary Network.
That’s my 2 cents worth for SIGNiX.
Home | Nexsys Technologies On the Nexsys Clear Sign site, it says it has moved to Amrock… https://www.amrock.com/ Is this for notaries who want to work for a title co doing remote loan signings? Or can you notarize other documents for clients as well?
