I was ‘enticed’ to pay $29 for receiving notifications/ assignments through www.notarystar.com. After paying the money almost a year back, I never received a single notification through this platform. When I approached them recently, I was informed that my performance was not ‘at par to their standards’ and the language used was unprofessional when I demanded refund. How can anyone be judgemental for the performance without providing any assignment? Beware of them since they also demanded huge amount of fee ($399) for providing fresh notary training with preferred listing/ marketing. Be advised and stay away.
This is very good to know. I was thinking of signing up myself recently. I’m sorry you had such a bad experience. I always worry about those signing platforms that you have to pay to sign up for. But I do use Notary Cafe and Notary Rotary.
Don’t pay anyone for a listing, don’t know where this idea comes from.
@manoharlknsa I was once a member of NotaryStar, and I can certainly understand where you’re coming from and your expectations. From my perspective, if new or inexperienced Notary Publics and Loan Signing Agents are specifically seeking opportunities for skill and knowledge development, I believe the platform and their community offer a good amount of training and webinars. While they also post loan signings on NotaryStar’s platform, it’s important to remember that, just like any other job board, the level of competition for those assignments can be quite intense. Keep in mind, there are not a lot of educational resources available for our profession. I do agree, we have to be selective and perform our due diligence when seeking out skill development or training resources. So, I don’t completely agree with the advice to stay away from NotaryStar, but I would advise anyone to ensure the company aligns with their expectations.
