After Closing Follow Up

I have been wondering if it is appropriate to follow up a signing with a thank you email requesting a review be added to my google business page. Does anyone have any type of follow up that they do? Do you find that it is a good form of marketing for future business?
Currently my business is solely loan signings and Will signings, all thru signing services or direct. I have done very little GNW.

I don’t see why not. It’s always helpful to get reviews. I always ask for general notary work but I’ve never done it for a closing.

To be honest I used to get a lot of general Notary work via Google and Yelp but I’m now too busy doing loan/seller signings and don’t either have the time or e energy to maintain ratings or reviews with either. I feel like you need to put your focus into what makes you most money, if that is what is important to you. I’ve been doing this for 24 years and had a 7 year stint as a real estate and mortgage broker that emphasized this kind of marketing. My personal experience has been about the superior work I provided and the relationships I built as a result of my work. I have never got regular business as a Signing Agent from marketing or online reviews. Referrals and continued high quality work is how I regularly capped myself off at $10-15k a month (when I was young road warrior) and in my semi-retired days now I can do this still if I wanted to work 5 days a week. No marketing and no can you give me a review…but all based on relationships and high quality work and customer service.

Invest in what “actually” makes you money.

Hi, I do not send thank you cards to the lender’s customers or ask them to rate me although I think it is a nice gesture. I may have a different perspective. I have seen in some of the Lender/Title agreements & in the agreements I signed with the signing services not to solicit their customers for anything or use their information other than for the purpose of conducting of the signing. So I feel using their address or email to send a thank you card or asking them to rate me, is for my benefit & not for the purpose intended. However, for my general notary customers, I feel that is acceptable because they are my customers. Again, this is just my perspective.

It is great to hear you say that. That is the way I had been running my business, but I began reading about reviews and ratings and felt I needed to work that angle as well. I am really not real interested in GNW so that leaves the SS or title companies as my clients and I don’t want to tread on them! Thank you for your thoughts.
