Background Check Expiration

I am already getting the you’ll be de-activated without a new background check emails, but I made the mistake in the past of rushing to get a new background check when I started getting these emails and now wait until about two weeks prior to the expiration date. Otherwise you get less and less time before the next one is due.

But I got three in a row from the same SS. That seems a little excessive for reminders.

A few start reminding about 3 months before; most start at 2 months & repeat way too often.
Starting the bgc about 1 week before expiration has worked for me.

I received six today from the same company. It’s like really?

Those notifications are very common. My rule of thumb is to complete the certification and background process 30 days prior to the expiration date. It’s always worked for me. I believe in the “Murphy’s law is an adage or epigram that is typically stated as: Anything that can go wrong will go wrong.” So I want to have a time buffer to allow enough time for addressing unforeseeable events.
