Need a little help and guidance.
Seem to have been mislead in the area of bill pay.
Usually when accepting an order you get the terms and additional information regarding payment timeframe, how payment is affected when errors are made etc, but not how the actual payment is made. Never really bothered me and never had an issue until recently.
Most title companies / platforms / vendors etc pay with deluxe checks and email the check to you. Some will do an ACH deposit that originates from the signing platform itself and never an issue or charge. Never had a problem depositing a check by uploading a picture in the mobile app with a deluxe check.
However, lately it seems that different vendors want to pay thru Bill.com, Melio etc., basically 3d party wallets that are constantly charging fees for their varied services and service options. Seems like there is a fee for everything (reminds me of tipflation). By the time a get that $100.00 check its $95.00. I tried to have MELIO just mail me my payment, but that seemed to disappear for about 30 days before I was finally able to recoup it. It seemed almost intentional in an effort to have me select an option the required a fee.
It’s just constant. I don’t want to use the 3d party wallets. I don’t want to continue providing my bank info to these 3d party wallets. Its almost inevitable my information will be compromised at some point.
Does anyone have an alternative in which to request a different payment method without offending the vendor and getting told we only use Bill or Melio? How do other notaries get around the 3d wallet requirement?
Unfortunately for me, I didn’t realize the 3d party wallet was used until recently and most payment explanations don’t include the 3d party wallet requirement in the order when accepting it. Only when it’s time to get paid do I get an email asking me to sign up for a 3d party wallet?
Any suggestions or advise would be greatly appreciated!
