aka CPservice. 6093 E Lowe, Fresno CA. Owner Michelle Gibbs. California Secretary of State Corporations listing shows them as “FTB Suspended”. I did a signing for them on 24 July 2016, as of 26 Oct 20016, no payment, they do not answer the phone or reply to e-mail or faxes.

Apparently, CPS did not file a tax return or pay taxes plus penalties & interest. I sounds like they are no longer in business and you will probably have to write off your fee as a loss. Unfortunately, we notaries are forced to investigate those offers from signing services before accepting any jobs from them. I am appealing to my U.S. congressman to introduce legislation to force these companies to post a minimum $1 million bond with the Secretary of State of each state where they do business. That way, the notaries can collect their fees from the county recorder and the SS will have to pay the amount back to keep their bond in force.
