Does the Dual Tray Auto Select Paper Size? or is the extra tray just a storage? I cannot make it Auto Select paper sizes? I am starting to think – tray 3 is just paper storage.

just for giggles - put paper in your drop-down tray (manual feeder) - see if it auto-selects from there; in my experience, Tray 1 is paper size, Tray 2 is legal size, Tray 3 is manual feed. If the printer auto-selects from the manual tray you have your settings wrong.
