I recently didn a sellers package amd scanned everything back. Everything i scanned back they said was fine and i took it right from the scanner put it back in the envelope and sent it out. Now the guy who got my name from notary resume is saying title is missing 2 warranty deeds of which they have the scans of. I know for a fact everything was taken as 1 package scanned and put directly in the envelope. Does anyone come across places saying everything was done right and scanned right they got everything then all of a sudden a few days later they say its not in the envelope that was shipped. I am positive i have a stand alone scannner and can scan the whole package at once and then put it directly into the envelope. I took NOTHING out. It didnt come in as a signing someone just called me to do the signing. I think they are lying that 2 warranty deeds which they saw from the scans and was able to give the money out to the sellers because everything was signed correctly and scanned correctly and now they are missing both warrenty deeds which they acknowledge was scanned. I think this is a ploy to not pay. I am very efficient and did not separate any papers after the scan. If i had I would have no problem admitting it. But they were in such a rush they offered 150 and I think they are looking for an excuse not to pay
Your proof is both the scan that has the WDs and they said it was fine. I think you’re right–it’s a ploy. Was this a direct from a Title Co. pulling this??? If it was way weirder…like from the signers, you should have collected your fee while there.
I had a company tell me the check for funds due was not included…I had a photocopy of the check stapled to the HUD right above the bottom line so you could see the numbers matched…it was found in the waste basket of the person who unpackaged it at title.
Once in a while this has occurred. I just offer my proof and move on to the next signing. The truth will be discovered. I find it’s not worth my time to try to prove someone else in in the wrong.
This happened to me recently and without scans I couldn’t prove it, but I’m 100 percent sure that I didn’t miss the most important document in the stack. And then my fee was cut by a lot. Now I feel like I need to scan even if not required for proof. I’m also considering not doing business with again. I also recently had a debt settlement company not pay me for my last 3 jobs, stating they did not get paid from their client. This was after 2 years of no problems.
@darla if I were doing loan signings, I think I would scan every package sent back and keep the scans too until paid - too many companies pulling too many excuses out of their pocket for not paying…and it’s always because the notary/nsa made the mistake. These days you need all the protection and proof you can get. It’s sad
They lost and are not blaming you. They need to pay you again to have it resigned, the scanbacks don’t lie.
I got stuck with something like that AND the SS said the TC would stop their contract if I didn’t comply. Stupid ridiculous reason too… I returned one RTC per signer instead of 3. My belief is that this was bogus so that I would return to the signer and notarize the Trust Cert for free.
So yes, I agree with you that they are fabricating stories to get you to do something.
Linda, You gave me this advice years ago. It has save my skin on more than several occasions.
Maybe this is a dumb question but when you scan on your printer, does an application pop up that stores the scan as a file that you can upload? Your proof is in that document right? How did you provide the scan back?
I put the whole package in the scanner. I have it connected through wifi so I just press scan. When its done scanning the scanning app gives me many choices on what to do with the papers that have been scanned. I can save it to files I can email it. I make sure that pdf was checked off before i scanned so when i open the scanner app all the documents are in my phone in a pdf format and then usually just upload the scan in 1 email into whatever portal is used (every company seems to use different portals)you would go to the scanback section and upload them as you would a regular pdf file. If u have any questions you can dm me on messenger. I have constant questions too. I just happened to know the answer to yours cause i use my scanner alot
