Feels like the only time an order comes with a great fee

The documents are going to be really late. And that’s where I’m at this morning.

The offer comes at the perfect fee, and you think GREAT no countering required.

Then you indicate what time you need to receive the documents to be on time.

Then it becomes clear you are not going to be on time.

Then the signer indicates there is a problem being late.

I know it’s April 1st, but come on, man. If I get another appointment, I’m going to take it. Even the tons of mileage one.

Ain’t it the truth… Great offers always have issues. Hope you can work it all out.

I worked it out - but it moved across the river to a different county, and the realtor was there. Which was okay because he could answer questions and she wanted fast.

But then like a dork when I had her re-sign the note because of a write over - she dated it. So I had to go get another copy of that signature page and have her re-sign it. The county of service is a county over and 40 miles one way. So that was a major drag.

But it was returned correctly and no error was turned in and DARN I wish I had not let her date that 2nd signature.

And the fee was actually higher than usual. And I’m not a big fan of scanning and uploading from the field on signatureclosers . The size limitation always causes headaches so I had to scan in 4 parts so it would upload. That was bigger than I wanted to scan with mobile. But on the plus side, the weather is just magnificent today.

There always seems to be a catch

When the signing is delayed due to docs not ready I ask for a fee increase. I tell them I have another signing after theirs, and I don’t want to move that time for an error that’s not my fault. This tactic has always worked, but yes I’m leery of last-minute signings for this reason. Last minute can also mean another notary has bailed out
