Five Stars - Signing Services of America

I know that many times, notaries use the Notary Cafe Forums to warn other notaries of signing services and customers that weren’t so great to work for. I would like to take a moment to recommend one of the better signing services I’ve come across. My experience with Signing Services of America has been top notch to say
the least. I find Phillip Hogan and Sammel Jackson to be professional,
great communicators and are accessed easily. I can always count on them
to respond quickly. My experience is that they offer above average fees
for normal sized document packages. I once had the scope of the
signing change and before I could ask to renegotiate my fee, I was given
a revised order and the fee was increased appropriately.
On average, I’m receiving payments from them in 13 days. As a notary
signing agent, I couldn’t ask for better. I will always say yes when
they call. Although I have no experience from the Escrow/Lending side
with them, I would say if you’re in escrow or lending and looking for a
signing service, why not give them a try. Signing Services of America
receives a 5 Star Recommendation from me for certain!

Not everyone agrees. There seems to be a plethora of complaints about their undisclosed ‘no fund/no pay’ policy.

Horrible company! I called them regarding a refinance I would be notarizing for them. When they answered the phone I could hear in the background “Just forward all the calls to voicemail.” CLICK… I tried to call again and there was no answer and the voicemail wasn’t an option the phone continued ringing. I then got a call from a man (not sure his name) and he asked “What do you need”. I called regarding a signing that I was scheduled for to print 428 pages and upload scanbacks! There’s no way I was going to do all that for $75 or even $90 let alone. I told him I was greatly considering dropping this file and not doing it at all just based on the customer service regardless of the pay. He then got really friendly knowing I was frustrated with him. He then advises me not to provide a physical copy set to the borrower. I advise the borrower and emailed him the eDocs. The borrower requested a copy still later on via phone call so I budged just to maintain a positive service to the borrowers knowing this is not their fault. Therefore I am taking a loss on this one for sure… Signing Services of America then advised me to upload only certain documents and not the whole pack. There is no way that I am going to go page by page on a set of docs that 212 pages when I have more signings to attend just to upload their requested documents within their timeframe. Not happening. So I scanned all 212 pages and let them deal with the headache knowing that they are getting paid more than me just to call and have me do the hard work. I have a very bad feeling about this company and I have all my records filed to a “T” for this one.

They are fine until you try to renegoiate because the package is too large, then they get rude!

I have been doing signings through Signing Services of America since the summer of 2021. I have done many Reverse Mortgages and Conventional loans, they always communicate and pay on time. They use signingorder.com and the docs are usually in the file shortly after the confirmation of the appointment. They will send emails to the Signing Agent, Title Company, and all parties if there is a request for docs. The staff is friendly and helpful and the company has long business hours until 11 pm EST for us western U.S. signing agents. Phillip Hogan was a Notary Public and signing agent before starting the company he now runs so he can relate to some questions or concerns that may come up.

I’ve always been paid by Signing Services or America. The first payment if I recall was not for 30-40 days but now that I regularly work with them I know my check is coming around the 14th-17th of the month. There have been some changes since 2022 and 2021 to now.

Do the work with notaries in every state?

Thank you do your kind words.
