jdianarawson, 1st of all welcome to the community. I see this is your first post.

cNsa5 does make a valid point as to searching the forums on here to find an absolute gold mine of information. There is a fantastic mix of very experienced notaries on here, some mid level experience levels and new notaries. That being said I will share my personal experience with BlueNotary.

Here in Florida, the State of Florida pushes new remote online notaries to sign up with Blue Notary. I am assuming it is because Blue Notary’s now former director of training was a high volume, experienced notary from the Tampa area. She is in many of their online training videos and has spoken at national conventions.

My expierence with them has been the following: When I signed up for the package deal they were offering at the time, they overcharged me by several hundred dollars. I literally saved my backside by printing the ad before signing up, because they denied having a promo going on and it took me sending them the printout of their website for them to refund me the overcharge.

I find that Blue Notary over-promises and under-delivers on almost every level. I use them for IPEN (In Person Electronic Notarization) for some lenders, and I have done a few private client transactions using their platform. All but one transaction has gone horribly, with features not working properly, the platform freezing up or them just not delivering what was promised. Many features the advertise just do not work. Additionally, if you are looking at them to pick up open call clients, forget about it, unless you live in the upper Midwest, where their server hub is located. I have a copy of an email sent to a notary I know that explains that when Blue Notary sends out an open call for an available notary, those closest to their servers have a huge advantage, and as you go farther away from their servers, the likelihood of grabbing an open call is next to zero.

I am also a notary on the Notarize by Proof platform. I use them 99% of the time for my private, online clients. They have a far better platform, it is easy to use and very notary friendly. Bad thing about them is that again, their open call program is very saturated, so don’t expect to make a living on picking up their clients. If you bring your own business, I would still stay away from Blue Notary. There are far better platforms.

@brucem1213 :tada: Thank You :tada: for your delineated direct experience summation of utilizing the Blue Notary platform. :growing_heart:

Lots of reasons to STAY AWAY from that platform.

Your insights on a reliable platform (different option) is quite helpful! Nearly ALL Notary Cafe members will benefit as a result of your post.

I agree with Bruce on this. Although my last session went better than most. They are my backup platform as they offer biometrics as an option and that is an important feature to me. Pactima is my go to platform (full disclosure I am grandathered into an old plan). Proof (formerly notarize) has a great onboarding trainng and covers things such as fraud detection. One Notary has a no subscription plan, but it is $13 for one signer and one stamp - you can however pay for the cost and bill your customer independently. They have limited features on the free side and I have no idea what they have if you are paid member as far as features go.

I am currently using BlueNotary. The platform is user-friendly and their customer support team is phenomenal. They quick responses are essential for a seamless notary session, especially if there are questions during a live session.

I would recommend you giving them a try, in fact, here is a link where you could recieve a discount on your subscription;

I am curious what everybody’s state allows you to bill for RON? My state caps RON at $25 per session. Whether it is 1 document or 10, $25 is the max per session. By the way, I use proof as well. Their training is very good.

Hi, yes I just started with Blue Notary a few months ago and very happy. The platform is easy to use for you and the signer. If you have an issues during signing you can reach out for support right there! I recommend!!

I am still new, only a few months in. I notice you stated you live in Florida (so do I) you also use Proof by Notarize (so do I) the biggest mistake I did when I bought a client in for a signing…….I didn’t see the option to charge them….mind you again this was the first client I ever bought to the platform. So I assumed either 1) I set my fees up when I first signed up or 2) They set the fee and take there cut. Long story short I didn’t know I had to charge them prior to the meeting due to it not giving me that option and when I asked support about the payment they said since the meeting was complete and the signer already received the document they could charge them, so I kindly you’d the signer something went wrong with the payment process and the signing was on me, little did I know due to living in Florida we can’t charge them through the platform. I do get some on demand calls, yes they are hard. But I was a little on the up and up about charging outside the platform. I was hoping BlueNotary would be my backup but after reading your experience I think I’ll pass. Thank you for your advice and your experience with them

But do you get any calls? I don’t like that there is no sound when a call is coming through. The Notarize by Proof platform has a ring every time a call comes through. Which is better for nuerodivergent folks.

There is GREAT SUPPORT located within the Notary Cafe database as referenced in my post above:

It’s SO helpful & the ANSWERS are immediately available! :balloon:

Thanks a bunch ! Do you do RON’s

@goldennotary247 Yes; however, only with a few Title/Escrow Companies [T/ECs] that have their own platform.

The credentialing process & the low pricing via Open Platforms continue to be in the “Undecided” Category for my business model.

I can help you with RON training . Just message me.

I just saw this post and, as no one has answered, I found this:

In Tennessee, the fee for remote online notarization is up to $25 per notarization. This fee is in accordance with Tennessee Rule 1360-07-03-.03, which governs the fees charged by notaries for online notarizations.

So the fee you can charge is up to $25 per notarization, not per session
