How to get companies or customers to check your profile out

Hello notary world,

Just wondering why I haven’t been asked for my services. I’m very new to notary café but have been n the business for years. Asking friendly advice, thanks!!

Hi @rquiksolutions!

Welcome to Notary Café! I don’t think people actually get much work from Notary Cafe. At least I’ve not gotten any calls from here. Most of mine have come from Notary Rotary or other venues I have registered at.

When you say you’ve been in the business for years, do you mean you’ve been doing general notary work and/or that you have been a signing agent? If you’ve been doing this for years, it seems to me you would have some direct clients.

What are you doing to market yourself?

You need to sign up with several places like Notary Rotary also. Make sure you put you website addy on business e mail
too. Have you taken any certification or other courses lately? Notary2pro is great and I believe you can sign up with a list
of companies they have. Also, search in your browser for title and signing companies and sign up with them every chance
you get. The more you put yourself out there the more likely you are to be called.

@apaloosa01 has some great ideas, but you need to do some preliminary research on companies before you contact them. When you sign up at Notary Rotary, you get access to Signing Central where you can research companies. Pay attention to what other notaries say about these companies. If you have a four star with a few one-stars, it’s probably okay to sign up with them. Do this with every single company you sign up with. I personally sign up with companies that have a rating of 4 or above, but some people say 3 and above.

Anytime you get an offer for a company that you do not know, you can look them up at Signing Central. if I turn down a company for work I tell them exactly why- fee is too low, bad reputation with specifics, and I move on. Even if you accept an offer on a SS then research to find out they don’t pay, you can get a hold of the company and tell them you won’t be doing the order and exactly why. In this discussion, I include that I found them at Notary Rotary and that many notaries said they have to fight to get payment, or they don’t get paid at all, or whatever it is.
