I9’s what are they!?

I-9’s exactly what are they. N3 Notary reached out and asked my price. She said it was weary and took a couple minutes. I said 30 dollars. She sent me a package to fill out but I haven’t yet,due to needing more research .

Hi  it’s a federal form required by employers, in which employees ID is verified, notaries are often requested to do it but we can’t actually stamp/notarize the i9, you could serve as employer representative however. A few resources:

This ones caught me off guard before too! Best to you!

They are super easy to do but for me they want me to travel upwards of an hour and still only get paid $30. I just don’t answer them anymore.

What types of prices are common to charge for them? And which types of people ask for them? I’ve never been asked… Is this something individuals are responsible for or the company itself?

I’ve only done a few of them. The ones I did were for nurses who worked for a national agency that provided temporary nurses to hospitals. When filling out the firm the person who fills it out (other than the employee) is acting as a representative of the employer. It is the employer who is responsible for getting the form done.

Thanks. And how much did you charge and what state are you in?

I’m in Vermont. I don’t recall what I charged, but probably would have charged about $20 for the short time needed to fill out the form, plus $1 per mile for travel. At that price, mailing the form back to the employer would have been the responsibility of the prospective employee.

So if I was meeting the signer at a place 10 miles from my home, and I was making a round trip, I would have charged $40.
