JMA Outreach Solutions Application Process

Hello,

I saw an old post about JMA Solutions

but my question is more about the application process, and I guess in general.

So I applied and was accepted but along with the usual paperwork, they are asking for a picture of my ID, social security and notary commission card. When I said I did not currently have the copy of it, but could still fill all the needed numbers in, they said a picture of my passport or birth certificate would work too.

In person, I’d be more receptive, but an online job has me more wary. I was thinking of redacting some things, but having a copy of All of that information on me (name, address, social, picture of me, etc.) feels really off. I’ve done some research and have some mixed answers.

Is this a normal application process for JMA Solutions?

A ‘picture’ of SS card is unusual. Most usually want a pdf of your Commission and a few do want a picture of your DL. I’ve done a few for them and have no complaints, but I sure don’t remember sending a ‘picture’ of my SS card–just provided a copy of my EIN. Really, you should get an EIN from Social Security. You can do it online in 5 minutes and it’s a good id theft prevention.

They hire for loan modification signings. I was hired via Notary123. Never did sign up on their website.

@porsennadr Always be cautious when providing your Non-Public Personal Information [NPPI] data.

  • YES: A picture of my ID => Be certain to REDACT your DL #, DOB, etc. before providing the image of your current government photo ID/DL
  • NO: This is certainly NOT something to do. As identified above, rush to the IRS website & obtain an EIN for your business entity.
  • YES: This is certainly a “normal” request => notary commission card

Thank you so much for the advice. I agree, that part was really weird to me as well.
An EIN is a good idea as well! Thanks again!

Thank you as well! :grinning:
Was thinking of the redacting option and giving an EIN.
I was also unsure about the commission, so thank you for confirming that that is more on the okay side.
If they refuse these options, I’ll leave it alone and /or report them if their response really comes off pushy/fishy.
