LOL I hand a kid one of my note pads and a pen so they have their own paper. I’m more nervous if they have a drink. It’s rare thank goodness.
Same as johnsonps306. I always carry a notepad and hand the little ones a couple of pages of that and a pen … just to keep them busy and interested in something else. I’ve heard of NSAs carrying coloring books and crayons.
Thankfully, haven’t had a little kid at a signing in years now Still carry the erasable ink pen and a notepad, tho.
Yes, kids and liquid sounds disastrous at closing
that’s a good idea I might have to start doing that
that is very fortunate, lol
I carry an erasable ink stamper and when the curious child appears at my side, I stop the signing and make a big deal out of stamping the kid’s wrist. (I have a tiny evaporating soap bottle to use in case of parental/kid trauma
). The kid leaves looking at the stamped impression and I can go back to work. The stamp looks like this, by the way ![]()
Incidentally, I’m starting to carry a baggie with a couple of dog biscuits as well. I always ask before introducing the stamp or the doggie treats.
that’s next level
nice
