Looking for off brand toner

Hi All,

I am looking for advise on off band toner. What I am lookinfg for is Brother TN880. I have tried a couple that seem to have good reviews. When I have used them, I have powderd ink all over my printer, streaks and spots. We all know how expensive toners are, any advise would be appreciated.

Hi deborahalliano and WELCOME!

I’ve used V4Ink, available at Amazon, without issue in both my Brother printers. I use the TN750 & TN650. But the TN880 is also available.

Best regards,
Yoli

Thank you so much for your help.

I @yolicue . give your printer a good wipe down including the drum unit and start fresh.

Years ago, I found https://www.sundatasupply.com/ for my Brother HD5200DW dual tray printer (which is awesome) and their toner cartridges are a fraction of the cost of the factory Brother cartridges. Like two thirds less in price. I’ve never had a problem with them. Saves me some SERIOUS $$$. I still use the Brother factory drums though. One-off drums don’t perform as well.

I agree Bobby. Get generic toner from one company where you get a consistently good product.

I had a small issue earlier this year with my toner company of choice (Easy Print brand) where I received two shipments of two cartridges. On both shipments, one cartridge was bad, and one was good. I could tell by shaking the bad ones that the toner inside wasn’t quite right. Streaks and toner dust on the paper. Maybe got too much moisture on the container ship?

Anyway, I have ordered many, many cartridges from them. I CALLED them (I’m old school too :winking_face_with_tongue:) for a return label for the bad ones. They said don’t bother returning them, and they credited my account.

As for off-brand drums, waste trays, etc… I ALWAYS buy the OEM replacements, just like you Bobby.

My printer of choice is the Brother HL-L8360CDW with an additional tray. After three years of service and over 225,600 pages printed, I just bought another one of the same model. The old one still works great. I just need to replace the fuser roller because it is now leaving streaks after cleaning it about 10 times over the years. I will only replace the fuser roller with the OEM version.
