Yep…they know it’s terrible out there, so they’ll offer more if you’re willing to chance wrecking your car. Accept the fee, but counter with new ‘no-ice’ date. Sometimes it even works.

I think the last thing a signing company will do is check the weather by you when giving an assignment (actually never seen it done with them admitting to it). You would be surprised how many don’t even know your location in relation to the the assignment (Bargaining chip in itself). 9 times out of 10 the signing company is on the opposite coast of the signing. Make it work for you SAFELY when you negotiate.

I always negotiate if I have to drive into the mountains, snow day, or exceeding my distance. Sorry I know my worth. Anybody else wants to drive far for pennies go for it.
