Quik Docs Mobile Notary

Carla Wright has been texting asking for my services in San Francisco for her “client(s)” acting as if an attorney as such. Never did Carla offer her business name in her initial contacts with me. The first opportunity she offered about a banker signing was later cancelled.

Today Carla texted again describing the nature of her business was “a boutique in So. California” after my inquiry. (Why hide her biz name?)

My second experience was a question of payment that outed Carla she will pay by my invoice, not from her referred customer (aka client). Another clue was Carla wanted to pay me from Venmo, not credit card.

Since Carla refused to provide a business name I looked her name up on LinkedIn. Why would Carla try to hide her business name I wonder?

So, think about it. Someone using only their first name represents themselves to you, a notary they never met, as an intermediary working on behalf of a client or the client’s “attorney” and they want to hire you to perform notarial services for them, at a juicy rate of pay, no less, and right away. Did you stop to think, “Why me?”

I was a bank fraud investigator for nearly 35 years. When I started out, my teacher/mentor took me to lunch and told me to begin every investigation with these words: “Does this seem reasonable to me?” Of course, what he meant was, do the circumstances, people involved, environment, conditions, testimonies and all the rest make sense? Look for the weak spot in what is being presented to you. Take your time. Sleep on it if you have to (I always do). Better to let some seemingly good opportunities go by then jump on one that costs you time, money and reputation.
With so many spurious characters out there, it is no wonder the term “due diligence” is worn out.
Keep the faith.

I’ve worked with Carla at Quik Docs Notary often and I’ve never had any issues at all. She asks what I want to make & makes sure I’m paid immediately after appointment is completed. I appreciate she always asks me what I’d like to make, and has no problem paying for good service.

I have worked with Quik Docs for several signings for the last three years. Carla has always been a pleasure to work with. I actually had one of my first signings with one of her clients. She helped out and explained clearly when I had questions—nothing negative I can say about Carla.
