Really Quiet

How are things going where you are? Here in my part of East Tennessee it has been quiter than I expected for end of month and end of quarter.

May was a record month, and June is pretty close to May. I’m actually busier than ever. I’m getting a lot of repeat work with the same title companies and escrow officers I’ve been working with for a long time. East Tennessee is a lot of land and not a ton of people, so I feel for you, for sure. Hope it picks up.

May was pretty good here and June started off like it was going to be, but has died out in the last week or so. I am sure it is just a location thing. My wife works in the commercial lending field and she said they are really slow right now. Guess we will just have to hold on and ride this out.

When I started as a loan signing agent I was told it was cyclical and that has certainly proven to be true.

Also in the summer there are more LSA’s because lots of teachers are signing agents who become more available in the summer.

Hopefully there’s another interest rate drop coming. But who knows.

I have never been this unemployed - this is wild. When I’m not working I’m marketing. So fingers crossed we both start seeing more jobs roll in.

Thank you for reminding me what must be going on. All of a sudden there is more competition? It is also a fact that one of the local community colleges has added Notary Public Training to it’s curriculum. As if things weren’t hard enough as it is!

In west-central Indiana. I do this part time year round (1 year in now). June was my best month by far, almost doubling what I did in any previous month. July so far is starting off similarly. I will be doing some work travel for a week soon, otherwise July might top June. With all of that said, it is funny how one day, I will feel like “wow, I am getting as much work as I can possibly handle” and then a few short days later I’m like “why am I not getting any jobs” :laughing: I’m sure we have all felt that

@Diesel3985 Definitively, it’s a common thought within this business sector . . . :white_check_mark:

What?! That is shocking

@jennjoneis It’s honestly not that shocking. Colleges are always keeping an eye on market trends, so it makes sense they’d add notary classes to their continuing ed programs. They see people are willing to pay for the training and are just trying to keep those seats filled in those empty classrooms seats.

@takenotenotaryservices - It’s just the typical business cycle—you get peaks and valleys. That’s why business planning is so important; you’ve gotta make hay while the sun shines so you have a cushion for the slow times. Diversifying your services is a huge help too, just to keep the money coming in when things get quiet.

I think it’s the holiday, things have been pretty quiet the last week in my area as well.
