Reputable Company?

Has anyone had experience with First American Mortgage Solutions? Yay or nay? They kept using my time and resources, only to put the file on “hold.” Then, I’d never get paid. I asked if they were more like debt collectors, and they kept dodging the question. No one ever seemed pleased when I came working for them, unlike most encounters. I have been relentless with them, and they don’t seem to care. They even attempt to try and make me pick up jobs from them under other names. Has anyone experienced this or had other experiences?

There is no “putting the file on hold” if you’ve completed the assignment. You’re entitled to be paid - you’ve done your part and your contract with them shouldn’t be contingent upon the final outcome of the transaction. I’ve no experience with FAMS.

I don’t think this was on hold AFTER signing from what I am reading. I’ve had signings put on hold before and I just book something else. I have done assignments for that lender but from other signing services, without incident.

You’re correct to question the legitimacy of the file status.

As a notary public, your fee must never be contingent upon (nor dependent upon) the successful completion of an underlying transaction.

If they choose to place your Fee in a position of dependency upon the transaction, it results in a prohibited financial conflict of interest.

Of course, their choice compromises the required impartiality of the notary.

You may want to consider ‘pushing back’ while advising them of the compromise that their choice is invoking.

The contracted professional services that you were hired to successfully complete have been provided. Ergo, payment is Due in Full.

Yes I was paid. But I don’t understand, they placed your order pending AFTER complete?
That’s never happened to me.
I would call until I talked to someone it could be as simple as someone forgetting to hit enter on their end. But the others who have said you should be paid - I concur. The signer signed right?
I’ve never handled their paperwork direct from them, I think the last one was a signing service out of Arizona. I think persistence.
