Signing Company Cancellation

Signers beware - Joe Altamirano from AltaSign offered me a signing (384 pages) at 7am. I accepted, went to the office, printed all the docs and contacted the client. They had no voicemail, so left a text message, as were the instructions on the order, and let Joe know via text after he had texted me. At 7:45am, he texted that the order was being reassigned since he couldn’t get ahold of me :frowning:. What in the world??? All that work down the drain. I let him know that I expected a printing fee which he agreed to but think it’s really unprofessional of him to have done this. I’ve been a signing agent since 2011 and always put my 100% into my signings. Argh !!

@LeslyD Totally get it, things could’ve been handled better. Ugh, I’ve had so many cancellations without even a heads-up. It’s happened to me where loan signings got canceled because of a time change by the signer, and the company didn’t even tell me! And the worst part? The signers messaged me asking if I was the one coming out! I been working in this business long enough, I just keep on moving, not waste the mental energy by allowing it to stress me out. Good for you to ask for a print fee, since you had to go to an office, I would have asked for a trip fee as well… I hate it too….

Did you actually get an assignment email? I have dealt with a company before that would rush to re-assign if the order wasn’t confirmed with a signer within an hour but that seems awfully nervous of that guy sorry that happened.

Yes, got the assignment email, printed the paperwork, contacted the client - all the things I always do in a timely manner!

That’s so not okay. You should absolutely get a print shred fee.

That’s the only way to go. These things are going to happen from time to time, and there’s not much you can do about it. Other than your own work, there’s not much you can control about the life cycle of a signing.
