Signing Service Tactics

Continuing the discussion from Unwilling Signers with PUSHY Signing Service:

In a recent post someone expressed concern over a signer refusing a signing appointment because he thought he was being scammed and told the Signing Agent he would call the police if she continued to harass him. Subsequently, The SS stated their intent to “black list” her for not complying with the “show up anyway” demand. Someone called this bullying, it’s COERCION. . The post was closed but I wanted to share the information with the OP and others

It’s illegal in the US under Federal and state laws. Frankly, I don’t care if it was the Lender who issued the instruction, or not, the SS should have defended your decision based on the information you provided. Furthermore, I would advise them that you will be filing a complaint against them with the SOS and federal & state officials. I am through being threatened by people in this industry with being “black listed”. It’s in their Terms & Conditions Agreement and every subsequent communication. This practice is allowed and encouraged to do this by other SS’s and supported by the signing platforms, sharing whatever they want in secret and without your ability to rebut. At the very least, I hope you will advise them that you are not interested in working with them again. My final comment is this, don’t share what your fee was for services unless that is specifically the subject of your post. Fee shaming is like a past-time in this industry. Inevitably someone will tell you what $$ it takes for them to leave their driveway. It’s neither useful nor interesting.

I do wish that we knew the name of the SS in question. They should be reported to the governing authorities.

They should be listed on Notary Cafe to ensure that no one will accept Signings from them. Not naming the company will allow them to continue their predatory practices, in my humble opinion

That is despicable and I also wish we knew the name of the signing service. I’d report them to the Attorney General of their state. I must say that when I hear stories like this, I so appreciate Unlimited Ink. They are the one signing service I know of who are also notary advocates. They always act on behalf of the notary in a case like this. That’s because they are experienced, hardworking notaries themselves.
