I closed a loan for Prestige Notary back in November and I have not gotten paid yet. They say they are changing payroll companies and is taking longer than usual. I ask to get paid by check at least. anybody else in this situation?
@bbrea1976 Excellent question!

Just wondering if by any chance were you able to locate the immediately available information found within the Notary Cafe database on this business entity?
They have a LONNNNNG history of a Negative reputation.

Many threads about Prestige Notaries. They are notorious for slow pay.
I have found you have to invoice the minute youâre done with a job. I would put a reminder in my calendar for 60 days and start sending requests for status.
Iâve never gone as long as you have not getting paid. Jenniferâs phone number is usually on the notary instructions as the emergency after hours contact. You should call her direct.
I am experiencing the same problem with Prestige. I just revised the invoice and gave them a deadline of 4/30/2025 at which time I will add a late fee AND then I will contact the Attorney involved as this was a lawsuit settlement case. I have contacted Title Companies in the past when confronted with non-payment on closings and it is usually resolved very quickly. The job they are not paying was probably the last I would have done for them anyway. They misrepresented the situation and took advantage. Lesson learned. These companies donât understandâŠwe can stay at home for freeâŠnot here to do them favors and pay their bills. Notaries donât accept their assignmentsâŠthey are no more!
Just sent this to Prestige (they are stating it will be another 37 days now???)
Research among notaries shows a very bad reputation for Prestige paying invoices. I am hoping that this is not going to be that situation. Please note that there are alternatives to collection for notaries. I have done my due diligence in sending the invoice and your âagreementâ sheet for the 3rd time. Payment is expected upon receipt of the invoice.
Any time you re- invoice Prestige they start the clock again.
What always worked for me was invoice the date of service put a follow up 37 business days past that and re-send the original email asking for status.
I donât think threatening works with anyone.
And contacting title for service payment issues can get you on a do not use list. Thatâs the way it can be. Notaries who work a lot are easy to work with. Not everyone likes to hear that reality.
I donât think coddling and playing their game is appropriate either. None of the signing companies I work with except for Prestige, make me jump through these hoops and none hold onto my money for such a ridiculously long period of time. Our expenses, our money, they should be ashamed of the lack of integrity with the business they are conducting (they already keep the lionâs share of the profit.) Not a threatâŠitâs called collection for non-payment. If I donât pay my billsâŠI receive âincentives.â I donât believe any of us are here to run mileage, burn gas, pay for electricity, paper, ink, equipment, insurance, membership dues, etc. to be met with such ridiculous âresetsâ for getting paid, hoping notaries will tire of trying and give up. I work with wonderful companies that pay before the ink dries. They donât look for reasons not to pay. And Signing Companies who are easy to work with receive responses to request. Remember guys, they are competing against other agencies just as much as you are competing against other notaries. Others can receive âNot Available.â It is a two-way street. Do your job and do it right; ignore the slow to pay, low paying or deadbeat agencies.
