My sister is a new Notary and I’m trying to help her. I’m in Michigan. She’s in Alabama. I was in Alabama Notary but I’ve never gotten one of these request. Does anyone know what that is? They’re paying her 75 and it’s 50 pages.
She’s being asked to get Seller documents signed - only the Seller’s docs. Not the loan or anything to do with buying or refinancing the property.
Not sure about the Alabama market. With gas, printing, and all the other costs these days, that’s a no-go for me. I think companies aren’t valuing our services enough. But, everyone prices things differently, right? When you break things down, the company is paying around $1.50 per page for her services. The signing fee needs to at least be doubled, that just in my evaluation.
Sellers don’t have loan documents. But there are 1099 tax forms that will slow you down.
I charge the same for these. Number of pages doesn’t mean fast when a seller doesn’t understand the declaration forms.
I did a private sellers docs today for hat was 11 pages but because of location I got $125. Done in 15 minutes. But a lot of driving.
